The stolen election of 2004 (Free Press)

The 2004 presidential contest between Democratic challenger Senator John Kerry and the Republican incumbent, President Bush Jr., amounted to another stolen election. This has been well documented by such investigators as Rep. John Conyers, Mark Crispin Miller, Bob Fitrakis, Harvey Wasserman, Bev Harris, and others. Here is an overview of what they have reported, along with observations of my own.

Some 105 million citizens voted in 2000, but in 2004 the turnout climbed to at least 122 million. Pre-election surveys indicated that among the record 16.8 million new voters Kerry was a heavy favorite, a fact that went largely unreported by the press. In addition, there were about two million progressives who had voted for Ralph Nader in 2000 who switched to Kerry in 2004.

Yet the official 2004 tallies showed Bush with 62 million votes, about 11.6 million more than he got in 2000. Meanwhile Kerry showed only eight million more votes than Gore received in 2000. To have achieved his remarkable 2004 tally, Bush would needed to have kept all his 50.4 million from 2000, plus a majority of the new voters, plus a large share of the very liberal Nader defectors.

Nothing in the campaign and in the opinion polls suggest such a mass crossover. The numbers simply do not add up.

6. November '06 Has Been Decided

Everytime I post about how the Democrats have ZERO chance of taking control of Either house this November, I get attacked as being negative and defeatist.

Regardless....I maintain that there is NO WAY.....I repeat, NO WAY....that the repubs are going to allow Democratic control of congress to happen.

I'd be willing to bet money on it. The Dems may pick up a few seats, but not enough to gain control of either house.

Mark my words. We'll all be here reading posts this November, on what went wrong. How we fell short. What we could have done differently. The answer....NOTHING. It's already been decided folks. We're just useless voters, and our opinion does not matter in the least.

I just keep getting more pessimistic that the election has already been decided before it began. And thanks to Diebold - it's more than possible that the repukes will once again rule, because they dont give a shit about us. It's a scary thought, sure.

But then again, we live under a government where logic takes a holiday and the rules of reason no longer apply.

They continue to ignore the will of the great majority.
They go about their 'neocon agenda', despite no popular support for most of it.
They continue their rampant fraud and corruption with nary a check or balance.

13. About The Free Press

The original Columbus Free Press grew out of the anti-war movement on the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in October 1970. Inspired by the activism against the Vietnam War and the senseless killings at Kent State, the underground paper was published for a 25-year tumultuous history (1970-1995). Like other underground alternative publications around the country, the Free Press went through many changes through the years. It served as the voice of the students in the early 70's, reporting on social justice issues such as sexism, racism, peace activism, corporate misdeeds, politics and the counterculture. Constantly struggling to survive on a shoestring budget, it encountered opposition from without and within. Internal ideological struggles were compounded, for example, when police arrested four of the editors in 1971 for "inciting riot."

The Free Press founders grew older, less militant, got jobs but the paper survived. Changing faces on the editorial staff show different politics and policies through the years. The Columbus Institute for Contemporary Journalism nonprofit organization was founded in 1986 as the sponsor of the Free Press newspaper.

Finally, after floundering through the Reagan-Bush '80's and hampered by a lack of an activist movement in the city, the Free Press faced so much competition in the "alternative" newspaper marketplace in Columbus that revenues dried up. It published its 25th Anniversary issue in October 1995, only with dollars donated from then-Columbus Guardian publisher Ron Williams; and ceased publication temporarily. The Free Press was resurrected as a website in early 1996 courtesy of longtime volunteer and activist Tim Wagner. The website developed during the next two years and the printed publication emerged as a quarterly journal in the Winter of 1998. A new Board of Directors formed and gradually the Free Press is back up and running in Central Ohio.

They're not going anywhere folks. There are probably a fair number of Democrats in positions to realize this, but they're going to let us hold out hope, even though the election has already been decided. Yes, I said it....the elections in '06 have already been decided.

republicans have got the machinery fixed.
in florida it is extra rigged because they made it illegal to check the paper trail when it becomes obvious that the losers have mysteriously won again.
