Here's how they plan to do it, by building alliances with these groups:

Examples include:

* Faith groups, religious leaders, and congregations—especially Evangelical and other conservative Christians—and multiple state Interfaith Climate and Energy campaigns, being mounted by the National Religious Partnership for the Environment.

* Security experts, conservative leaders, and labor interests interested in reducing U.S. oil dependency and transitioning to a new energy economy—the Set America Free coalition, the Apollo Alliance, and the Energy Future Coalition.

* Anglers and hunters, outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts, thousands of habitat conservation organizations, skiing and other winter recreation businesses, water managers and ranchers concerned about impacts on snow pack, water supplies, and fresh water and forest habitats.

* National Association of Conservation Districts, Farmers Union, Governors Ethanol Coalition and the 25 X 25 Coalition of agriculture interests supporting a greatly expanded role for farm-based energy and fuel production.

* The more than 200 mayors committing to reducing urban emissions and calling for federal legislation.

* College students and other youth audiences through groups such as the Energy Action network of college organizers, state PIRGs, Sierra Club and The National Wildlife Federation’s college leaders’ network.

The campaign will connect these networks and ally opportunities and capabilities into an effective foundation for creating and implementing new strategies behind common goals.
