|
"Bush worst President since..." (jimmy carter) Oops!
He came on to apologize for sending an angry Fax, which got him promptly put "On Notice" board.
Not sure how I feel about the guy, but it was a very funny interview.

But I think you're right, I think he's almost the poster child for the neo-cons, but an Anti-Bush neo-Con Magazine publisher is better than a Pro-bush Magazine publisher...
Anyway, it was pretty funny.

13. I promise you he is a man of importance in the neocon world. |
|
His only allegiance is to money, power, and getting more of it. He's a good indicator of what's bad, though. If he's involved, it's probably creepy and anti-democratic.

15. He is not a Neo Con.... |
|
He is a pro business Republican who excuses the Bush foriegn agenda in order to preserve Tax Cuts and deregulation...
Probably worse, in the long run, excusing such brutish behavior in order to preserve a few measly sheckles...

7. WADR, I haven't seen him with JS. What I have seen, and just recently, |
|
is a tape of him on Larry King with Dennis Miller, when he was still sort of funny, and Al Franken
he was just HORRible: stilted, forced, clearly out of his depth, and REFUSED to opine on anything, aside from a few VERY lame slurs on Clinton (this was from 96). not funny at all. at all
the one time he WAS funny was when he was anchoring the immediate aftermath of Lady Di's death.
Captain Jenks called him, claiming to be a Newsweek Paris correspondent. he told him that the reason they were going so fast in the tunnel was because she wanted to get to a video store before it closed, so they could rent "Private Parts"
Williams was completely taken in....hemmed an hawed for quite some time, and, IIRC, had Jenks repeat the story. After more idiotic stammering, somebody finally clued him in. I wonder if somebody has ever posted it on Youtube.
I have it on videotape, but didn't bother to label it. Some day, if I ever find it, I'll get it online. I promise

naaaaahhhhh
but, that would be antisemitic of me to even broach the subject, woudln't it?

12. Oh, Mort Zuckerman, the guy who personally fucked up my life. |
|
Mort Zuckerman is a trustee at NYU. During our strike at NYU he has published numerous articles against us (the strikers) using his media holdings to retaliate against workers who complicate his business interests. I was one out of 2 people (out of 500) singled out to be fired at NYU (made an example of) for political activity.
Larry Silverstein-- the verysame lucky leaseholder of the WTC who bought in 6 weeks before the attack and earned a few billion off his insurance-- another NYU trustee.
These people are in bed with the neo-conservatives BIG TIME. They seem to have some interest in using NYU for their nefarious purposes. They are expanding NYU all over the city, turning the NYU poli-sci department into a hotbed of neoconservatism, and bringing people like Henry Kissinger and Colombia's Uribe in as honored guests of the university.
I trust these people less than I trust Bush. How scary is that? At least you know where you stand with Bush. I don't know who these people are. They are a really scary, cold bunch.

16. What I'm more afraid of is the new Dean of the Columbia University... |
|
...School of Business. He was one of GWB's White House advisers. (Economic I think).
My Dad graduated from Columbia and got his Masters Degree from Columbia Business School, knowing one of GWB's advisers is the Dean of a formerly great Business school, now that's scary!

18. Yeah, well the two schools are linked. I'd be afraid of both equally. |
|
I wouldn't be surprised if Zuckerman and Silverstein were trustees at Columbia too. What do these ubercapitalists banker-investor types have to do with the mission of a university? Well, everything if the University's mission is real estate ventures and political cronyism with an educational facade. We're trying to force the university to open it's books or provoke an audit (no one has any idea where all the money goes.)
I'm not surprised that the dean of a business school at Columbia would have a Bushite at the helm. The neo-cons have sunk their long black fingernails into the major universities in NYC.
NYU's agenda is particularly sinister and weird. NYU's president called our union-- comprised of struggling graduate workers on campus-- a "virus" and he said that he is the "cure" for us. We've got Bushites everywhere at NYU. Columbia is still more prestigious, but NYU is the largest private landholder in NYC. It is completely transforming the city's real estate and ruining lower Manhattan. They have destroyed cultural momuments and are tearing apart neighborhoods. That is to say, they are tearing at NY's most progressive base and filling it with wealthy kids who have no concern for the communities they live in.
Last time I went to a community meeting, the elderly were begging NYU not to close down the only grocery store in walking distance for them NYU holds the lease to the store.) Then little old ladies were begging the university to promise that they wouldn't tear down the miniscule community garden in front of it. NYU would not say whether or not they would tear it down. They were really cruel to the elderly people at the meeting. I cried one day when I passed that little garden. It's so half-assed and crazy looking. Definitely a garden designed by lifelong NYers who don't know much about gardening, but who are desperate for sanctuary and connection to something.
I don't have much hope for them. After all, NYU did destroy Egdar Allen Poe's house (where he wrote the Raven) so they could expand the law school. Even with celebrities like Woody Allen fighting for the literary monument, NYU tried to tear it down completely. What kind of university tears down historic monuments to expand their real estate empire? Oh, right, a neo-con university.

14. bush the worst president ever, but kerry would have been worse |
|
that's what he said, basically, but didn't get into his reasoning for why kerry would have been worse than someone who, as he admitted, has done considerable damage to the country through his domestic and economic policies.
