Look at this...

I was looking at a site and found this. The person also had a blinking thing (I don't know what to call it exactly) that said that it is the soldiers who give up words... not a poet. It is a soldier who gives us freedom of the press... not reporters. It is a soldier who gives us freedom to protest... not the campus organizers. It is the soldier who gives us fair trials... not the lawyers. It is the soldier who gives us the flag... so protesters can burn it.

I suppose this person never read the Constitution. I think all those things... freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of expression... were given to us in that apparently meaningless little document. I'm not sure how illegally invading Iraq for little shrubbie's imperialism si really giving us any of those things. Hummmm. Must just be me.

(And yes. I get it. Soldiers fight for our freedom. I am a military brat myself. But one can hardly put all this crap out there and then act as if invading Iraq is setting us free.)

sehr GUT!

2. I love how they assume no one in "our crowd" has fought.

I believe Iraqi Veterans Against the War, Veterans for Peace and all the other military anti-war groups just don't count to them. Unless you're sucking on the teat that is george w. bush, you're nothing.

These idiots make guys like my dad- Vietnam Veteran and pissed off beyond belief- insanely furious. No one better hand my dad this little nonsensical poem.

5. I really can barely take it anymore
This is the world I get to die in, in this life? A fucking Orwell novel? Is there a cosmic contest on to see if we can spill more blood in the 21st century than in the 20th?

6. The people who think this this war is about our freedoms...
...have their heads up their asses.

Supporting our troops in this case can consist ONLY of trying to get them home, and supporting their rebellion against illegal orders as Lt. Ehren Watada is now doing.

I know that this topic will be jumped on by the freepers and their moles here on DU, but you are totally correct about this.

We need to make it clear to all soldiers that we support them if they become refusniks, and that when we again control this country their records will be expunged and they will be pardoned.

And we need to make it clear that ALL war crimes will be punished with the maximum sentence allowed by law.

When is losing the ability to protest the thing that they are fighting for?

How deeply can these people misunderstand the principles of the Constitution and what America is about?

8. And the woman that had this up is also a mother to young children.
Can you imagine what these children are being taught? :scared:

Say good bye to democracy.
