1. You'd think that would be a question our news media would ask as well
But that would assume that they are independent journalists...

2. If any do exist, I hope they find other ways of getting out the info.
Because I don't think their editors/publishers/producers/corporate owners will allow any fact-based articles/reports to see the light of day.

5. You'd think! I am always dismayed at what the "free" press chooses to
focus on.

3. Natalee Holloway?
If the missing NASA scientist was a blonde female,
the media would be all over it!

4. Yes we need to find out her name
And then we need to request interviews.

7. I wonder if it is James Hansen.
Found this from 2004:

The Bush administration is trying to stifle scientific evidence of the dangers of global warming in an effort to keep the public uninformed, a NASA scientist said Tuesday night.

“In my more than three decades in government, I have never seen anything approaching the degree to which information flow from scientists to the public has been screened and controlled as it is now,” James Hansen told a University of Iowa audience.

Hansen is director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York and has twice briefed a task force headed by Vice President Dick Cheney on global warming. He was also one of the first government scientists tasked with briefing congressional committees on the dangers of global warming, testifying as far back as the 1980s.

9. another possible candidate -- Robert Watson?
(No relation to Harlan Watson, who is currently the WH mouthpiece on climate change.

Robert Watson used to chair the IPCC (prestigious international group researching global warming) but lost his job .... probably because the White House thought he was too outspoken. (By the way, he's American.) The climate scientists I know say he's a good guy, and was removed (even though his colleagues protested this) because Exxon wanted him out.

I'm glad that he is still speaking out.

"Bob Watson, chief scientist for the World Bank and former chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, added that the Pentagon's dire warnings could no longer be ignored.

'Can Bush ignore the Pentagon? It's going be hard to blow off this sort of document. Its hugely embarrassing. After all, Bush's single highest priority is national defence. The Pentagon is no wacko, liberal group, generally speaking it is conservative. If climate change is a threat to national security and the economy, then he has to act. There are two groups the Bush Administration tend to listen to, the oil lobby and the Pentagon,' added Watson."
