Giuliani considering 2008 presidential run
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060713/ap_on_el_pr/giuliani

so if giulianai runs will the Democrats point out how he helped propagate the lies about Iraq?

will they talk about his double standards, or will they just be passive

1. As an African American who lived in New York from 1995-99...
I hope they remind people of his shameless race-baiting and rogue police tactics.

10. I know. He took the mistress to the Governor's Mansion while his wife and
son were STILL LIVING THERE. Pure scum.

2. He'll never make it out of the primary.
No need for Dems to do anything about Giuliani.

7. Him and McCain are their best chances
I agree that if McCain gets in, and I am pretty sure he will, than Guilliani doesn't have that much of a chance.

I suspect it depends on the fall elections - if they do poorly they may conclude they need to reject Bushism (hence McCain), if they do ok (I don't think they have much of a chance of doing good), they may decide to go for a more conservative Bush-Loving candidate.

11. I have a friend who bleeds Republican.
He was born in 1938 in Iowa and his father hated FDR and his son learned well. This friend told me that he will not under any circumstances vote for McCain. He would write somebody else in for president. I also do not see millions of right wing Christian evangelicals racing to the polls to vote for Guilliani who is pro-choice, pro-gay rights, and who had a mistress while still married and in office. They will not vote for the Democrat, but they may just not vote for a presidential candidate, or stay home. I think that the Republican coalition comes apart with either of these guys as their presidential candidate.

13. There would be strain, that's for sure.
The question is how many people bleed republican to thep oint that they wouldn't vote for McCain or Guilliani and is it enough that they can do without the obvious mainstream appeal of either of those candidates.
