Went to a funeral this AM
A very dear friend of ours was diagnosed with Cancer about four months ago and died earlier this week at the age of 62. She was a wonderful, fun loving happy person. At the visitation there was a slide presentation behind and above her casket showing pictures of her throughout her lifetime and a few popped up of me and my wife and our friend at a couple of 5k races in New Orleans and at a Kareoke Bar. Wow, talk about a gut wrencher. She suffered miserably her last few weeks and we hope she's engaged in a crawfish berl with her husband who died earlier this year. Thought I'd share happy and sad thoughts all wrapped together.

2. I'm so sorry BossHog.
I've been down-in-the-dumps today over people I've lost in my life. Must be the air/water/times??
I wish you well and know that you will cherish this dear person forever in your heart.

4. Just came back from my grandmother's cremation service
I couldn't hack it in the end and broke down during the wake. Not just for her, but for all the personal crap I''ve experienced in the last 6 years where I should have cried but didn't :(

One of these is in order, I think :grouphug:

8. Sending energy to get you through this bitter-sweet time
We are richer for those who touch our lives. Look to the gifts she gave all when you feel the loss too keenly.

:toast: to the lady who was full of life. May she find her new adventures to her soul's liking!

10. There is nothing but joy in remembering her
Kareoke, (she and I were like howling houndogs, but we had a helluva good time), bbq's, 5k races in the french quarter; crawfish boils on the bayou. She also organized my wife's annual "surprise" birthday party. After about the third year the "surprise" became quite the humoruous enterprise. No doubt her and her husband are kicking back with a cold one about now. I celebrate her life and choose not to be sad for me because she is gone, but was blessed to have her in our lives for 16 great years.
