He has no goodwill, no political capital, no standing from which to tell the warring parties to knock it off.

The War in Iraq has utterly neutered the United States in every possible way. THIS was exactly why I was against the war in the first place.

We're impotent against North Korea, we're impotent against Iran, and we're essentially ignored by everyone in the Middle East who might've listened to us under previous administrations.

Good god, I hope they figure a way out of this on their own... because we're certainly not in a position to lead them out of this mess.
