Christian Coalition agenda for 2006 (be afraid)
1. "Multicast/Must-carry" Legislation to Prevent Discrimination Against Religious Broadcasters Without a "Multicast/Must-carry" law, the cable and satellite companies would probably not add new Christian channels and the influence of current Christian channels will be diluted.

2. Getting votes to Confirm President Bush’s Judicial Nominations, including Judge Samuel A. Alito and to Confirm any Additional Supreme Court and Circuit Court Nominees.

3. Making Permanent the 2001-2003 Federal Tax Cuts The Christian Coalition is supporting efforts in the 109th Congress to finally make permanent the tax cuts passed during the years 2001 and 2003 including the increase in the child tax credits and the elimination of the marriage penalty tax.

4. Passing the "Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act" The bill would require abortion providers to notify women who want an abortion 20 weeks after fertilization that the evidence suggests their unborn child feels pain and they have the option to obtain anesthesia for their unborn child in order to reduce or eliminate pain.

When he is indicted for his role in the Abramoff-related corruption, let's hope his Coalition craters along with his freedom.

and why I don't consider them to be a religious group worthy of tax exemption.

The best way to kill the medium off.
I will not have cable or satellite if I am forced to buy that crap.

Blessed are the idiot fundies, for they know not what they sow, nor what they shall reap.

They fight for people to be able to pick and choose what cable channels they want, then realize that most people won't choose them.

I don't know about you, but if I could knock channels off and save money, they'd be the second to go, right after faux news.

22. I already use most of my channel-blocking on Xian Hate TV
Not just the channels, but the individual programs as well.

There are few things worse than falling asleep with the TV on and waking-up in the morning to discover Pat Robertson speaking directly to your sub-conscious.

So, I've blocked those programs, Xian Television, Infomercials, Paid Programing, That's So Raven, Fox News, The "Family" Channel, and Beyond Belief.

23. Silly DU'er! Don't you read your Bible?
Did you miss that part where Jesus went off on the money-changers and said; "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and render unto God what is God's, after deductions, and split into three tax brackets of no higher than 23% for the wealthiest amongst you, allow for credit on amortization of property, and allow no tax on inheritance in excess of $4 billion. For it has been said; 'You can indeed TAKE IT WITH YOU'"

Peace-out - JC

why else would a "religious" group have a goal such as "Getting votes to Confirm President Bush’s Judicial Nominations"
instead of "working for judicial nominations that benefit religions"

the christian coalition is frankly a GOP operation that manipulates the religious right and leads them around by the ring in their nose.

12. Number one domestic enemy of the constitution
Cable companies "probably" won't air our hate filled propaganda so we will get BIG GOVERNMENT to force them to accept us; even though we offer no proof that they won't air us anyway, or any proof that we are making money for them in a free market endeavor; or chat about how we want people to have the right to block whatever the fuck they want to block which is aired by cable because that would make us look like the dumbasses that we are. We insist on the right to hate in Jesus name and cable companies must aid and abet us.

Oh and by the way we continue to be persecuted because you won't let us force our religion on you.

They do all they can to get individual shows, and even entire networks (such as the gay network Logo) taken off, yet they demand legislation that forces cable companies to carry their hate-spewing religious networks. What complete and utter BS! Stupid Christofascists.

Christian Coalition Sets Agenda for 2006

To: National Desk

Contact: Michele Combs, Director of Communication for the Christian Coalition, 202-479-6900, michele@cc.org

WASHINGTON, Dec. 20 /Christian Wire Service/ -- Christian Coalition of America set its agenda after recent planning sessions for 2006. A few of the issues Christian Coalition will concentrate on are:

5. Passing in U.S. Senate Congressman Fred Upton's "Broadcasting Decency Enforcement Act" Passed by U.S. House 389-38 Advocating $500,000/incident & License Revocations/Senator Brownback Has Similar Bill in Senate

6. Support Legislation Stopping Religious Discrimination Against Christians in the Military Christian military chaplains are being told to use general terms when they pray publicly, and to not mention the name of Jesus.

7. Passing the "Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act" ("Child Custody Protection Act") in the House and Senate (i.e. protecting parental notification rights for abortions on minors)

8. Passing Congressman Walter Jones’ "Houses of Worship Free Speech Restoration Act," H.R. 235 This bill will liberate clergy from the muzzle imposed by the absolute ban on all speech that may be regarded as "political" and thereby enable them to speak out on all vital and moral and political questions of the day. The IRS is currently after a liberal church in Pasadena, California.

9. Passing in the U.S. Senate Congressman Hostettler’s Legislation Which Passed in House 242-182 Protecting 10 Commandments in Response to Infamous Supreme Court Decision in January 2005 The legislation would prohibit use of funds to enforce judgment of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana's ruling.

10. Passing Congressman Roscoe Bartlett’s “Holly’s Law" and Senator Jim DeMint’s bill to Take the Abortion Pill, RU 486, Which has Caused at Least 5 Women's Deaths, Off the Market Until There is an Investigation

The President of Christian Coalition of America, Roberta Combs said, "There is so much unfinished business which needs to be addressed during the Second Session of the 109th Congress. However, the most important business in January will be ensuring that Judge Samuel A. Alito is confirmed as Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court, since that -- along with the successful confirmation of Chief Justice John Roberts and other U. S. Circuit Court judges -- will determine the course of American culture for at least a generation. The 2004 election has shown that America has become more conservative and concerned about the deterioration of the culture and Americans want a change. Christian Coalition will devote whatever resources are necessary to confirm President Bush's Supreme Court nominees, including Judge Alito, and his other nominees to the Circuit Court of Appeals."

The Christian Coalition of America is America's largest Christian grassroots organization with more than 2 million supporters. The organization's website may be referenced at: http://www.cc.org.

32. On number eight they're trying
to use the liberal church for their own agendas. The liberal church only preached a pro-peace message and did not speak on politics or endorsing canidates and telling people who to vote for and kicking out democrats. The conservative groups tell their people who to vote for and they do political work from their churches which is against the rules. Preaching a message of peace instead of war is not illegal last time I looked and this group is trying to abuse the situation for their own gain.

If Robertson's idiotic rantings were factual, this organization and their so-called "leaders" would be shovelling some deep red-hot coals by now.
Any person of faith should be appalled by this evil cabal of fanatics that actually threaten the same religious freedom by which they operate in.
They are truly the most visible enemies of freedom and democracy - terrorists indeed.
They should be dealt with accordingly.

As a Christian I can't stand them and they make me so angry! They stand for NOTHING Jesus did. When did Jesus ever talk about "saving the babies"? When did Jesus talk about hating gay people? When did Jesus talk about tax cuts for the rich? When did Jesus care about the surpreme court? When was Jesus for them doing political agendas in his father's house? "My father's house is a place of prayer for all people."

Notice that one of the items is the "restoration of free speech" in church, so that pastors can recommend candidates. They'd never push for that if they expected Dems to benefit from it.

I agree, this is something the IRS needs to look at.

40. IN 2007, they'll want fetal rights. Smokers/drinkers go to jail
if they're pregnant. Women with these habits would not seek prenatal care out of fear of arrest, and babies (unborn and born) will suffer as a result.

That's one objective of the 'culture of life', because the goal is about putting women in their place. They could give a shit about the fetus.
