36% FOX POLL: Dems Favored On Most Issues-Zarqawi Bounce Over
07/13/06 FOX News Poll: Democrats Favored On Most Issues; Bush Approval Down
Thursday, July 13, 2006
By Dana Blanton

NEW YORK — Less than four months before Election Day, the latest FOX News Poll finds that voters strongly favor the Democrats on key issues such as the economy and gas prices, and give the minority party a double-digit lead for control of Congress this fall. For most of President Bush’s second term in office, more Americans have said they disapprove than approve of his job performance and that is again the case in this new poll.

The president’s approval rating dropped to 36 percent, down from 41 percent approval two weeks ago and 40 percent in mid-June. Bush lost ground this week among some key constituent groups, such as Republicans, whites and men. Overall, 53 percent of Americans say they disapprove.

"It is important to remember that the president got his bounce after the killing of al-Zarqawi in Iraq," comments Opinion Dynamics Chairman John Gorman. "While administration officials were careful not to overplay the significance of this, it naturally created hope that things would get better. Several weeks of bloody footage from Iraq have pretty much dashed those hopes."

3. Easy solution to Bush problem
No more bloody footage from Iraq. They'll use this Middle East stuff as an excuse, so as not to "inflame" the situation.

44. Here's a pollkatz graph:

Sometimes the Fox polls are more-or-less within range of the other polls. Lately that have been noticeably understating the emperor's status as a widely despised charlatan.

6. 36%

Still very high.

My wife, who was basically a Conservative when we first married, can now be classified as a Liberal and its in large part because of this idiot.

13. Yeah, You're Wife's Story is Common
I honestly think 36% is inaccurate, though those with poll knowledge may not think so, meaning it is kind of overstated. Though, really, if you think about it, 36% is pretty damn LOW.

21. It's not possible; it's spin like everything else
I heard that the WH is showing GWB at 29%, which is why they're hoping for the BIG ONE in the
Middle East, the war they always wanted, so they can have anothr 9-11 moment, so George can
be a hero, so George can dress up in a flight suit and stand on an aircraft carrier, so George
can be liked again.

25. Now, That Number's Interesting
Though, yes, hoping for the Middle Eastern war...strange. Israel on Bush's Bandwagon? Bush on Israel's Bandwagon?

I might like him a little better if he was good at pretending to be like Curious George. But no, everyone knows he is an incurious man. (Bush Is Incurious and Dogmatic, but He Is Still the Right Leader, Frum, 9/05).

They actually believe that kind of crap is GOOD.

8. Too bad we'll still probably end up losing.

I know I'm being pessimistic but I was never more certain of an election victory than in 2004 and we all know how that turned out. I can see the headlines already...

GOP STUNS DEMS IN ELECTION DAY TURNAROUND
REPUBLICAN UNDERDOGS PULL OUT THE UPSET
"MIRACULOUS" RALLY KEEPS GOP IN POWER

They control the vote counting, so they win, period. I hope I'm wrong, God I hope I'm wrong...

9. As an aside probably few will see the humor in
as a newbie, it is kind of amusing to watch people here cheer for the polls they like the results of and scoff at the validity of all the ones they don't like....

Anyway, carry on! It is indeed good news!

10. EXCELLENT
I hope the Republicans lose BIG in November. Just seeing Hannity's face the day after the Democrats retake the House and/or the Senate would be partial repayment for the past six years.

These RWers think they're sush Great Americans. So moral. But people are starting to see through the bullshit. I think we have a very good chance to clean house come this November.

17. How about a big ceremony in Baghdad in September
handing over "control" to the Iraqis. It will all be a bunch of bull crap, but they will try it anyway. They will say that many of the troops will be coming home. Then right after the November elections they will say, "Tensions have risen so dramatically that we will have to send more troops into Iraq". Just my opinion. They will have to do something to make everything look rosy right before our elections. People will fall for it. They always do.

Aleph-1, the number of all numbers
Aleph-2, the number of points on a line or plane
Aleph-3, the number of all geometric curves, and
Aleph-4, the number of "Al Qaida number TWOs"

36. Don't forget that many of the bush voters in 2004 still believed
that he would "finish the job" in Iraq and voted for him to guarantee that the job would get finished. It's fairly well clearnow that the job isn't going to get finished and that he and his republican buddies never intend to finish it. I wouldn't want to be running on a "stay the course" platform come November.
