2. The Army has made the training softer |
|
Apparently, todays "warriors" can't handle being screamed at by Drill Sergeants. They no longer are pushed as hard, like when it comes to running. When I joined the Army I expected the Drill Sergeants to be assholes. I expected to be pushed hard. What do these kids today expect? The Army has also lowered the mental standards and takes older recruits. Oh well, at least these new "Soldiers" get to wear the old Airborne Ranger beret and silly looking fatigues..............

3. I think it's called leadership. |
|
We kicked out all of the military leaders in Iraq. I guess they were replaced with people who had no experience. Just another example of the stupid leadership on our side.

4. Probably two weeks alone are needs to recover from the shin splints |

that kids get when they have never worn a pair of hard soled shoes in their lives. I understand that this is a real problem as so many of them have never worn anything but tennis shoes and flip flops all their long eighteen years.
One, in theory is "ready" to go into combat after basic training, as they are still pretty much able to do the basics in their sleep by then, but the reality is very different.
Remember all the WWII and Vietnam movies we grew up on? "Don't tell me your name, kid, I don't think you'll be around long enough for me to remember it..." from the hard-boiled platoon leader at the ripe old age of 21 who has been in France/DaNang for a year?

5. I takes 3 months or so |
|
to train the Privates (and actually the real training begins then if you're talking about actually fighting) It takes far longer to train NCOs and Officers. The NCOs are who really make a military force function effectively.

8. Umm.. because they're not really interested in fighting for the occupier. |
|
They will put on the uniform and make a show of it, to get paid. But they won't really fight.
