1. When DU's moderators let Israel stuff on General Discussion
without moving it to Israel/Palestine board, you know it's bad.

16. This isn't just about I-P, anymore...
and that may be why. This tit-for-tat could very well kill us all.
Kinda worthy enough to be in LBN and GD, but that's just IMHO.

11. I'm astonished that they didn't move my post, to tell the truth. I thought
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 08:43 PM by Redstone
it belonged there, and that it would have been moved.

We rely to some extent on the mods to move posts to where they belong. Though we post them in GD to start with because we're not sure. Or maybe lazy, I don't know.

Not insulting the mods here. Not me.

Edited to remove superfluous commas. Sorry, they bother me.

Now might be a good time for a break from the news if it's really getting to you.

Hang in there.

14. No, not bad. Shows you still have perspective. You have to laugh, because
if you don't, it hurts too much.

18. laughter helps...
I'm not 'scared'.. of dying.. I'm more scared of living in continual stress/anticipation/frustration/craziness that masquarades as 'normal'/waiting for the 'next shoe to drop.

We can't avoid death, but we ought to be able to live without this continual barrage of violence, hate, and suffering, especially when there is bloody little we can do about it.

Even nature seems ready to explode- It's hard to get 'away' from the feeling-

Hope you find some comfort-
At least we're all in this together-? :eyes:

9. Life is a death sentence
Enjoy what you have. Turn the news off. If you can. If it makes your life better. I recently had a death in the family of a 35 year old mother of three young children. I keep thinking why not me? I'm older. I'm not in shape. She was the LAST person in the entire family we would think could die-she died of the freaking complications from strep throat that turned into a bacterial infection. She died in three days. Life is damn short. No promises. Fuck it indeed. Since she died, I'm living the best I can for ME. If it means turning off DU and the news and the world so be it. When they say life is short, it's not really just propaganda.

your message. I do indeed.

And I hope others will as well.

22. my son's word of wisdom that I go back to periodically
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 10:05 PM by bobbieinok
Yesterday is gone; you can't do anything about it. Tomorrow (the next hour) may never come; you could get hit by a car. Today, this minute is all we really have; get all you can out of it.

Another of his comments after about 6 months of internet access--
I learned from this what is really important--not the internets, not finding out new ways to access music, etc. What's important are the real, actual people around me, my friends and my family.
