Suggestion: The Power of the Mass-Walkout
Here's a thought:

If you get a chance to attend a rally, presentation or speech featuring a person you'd like to protest - invite 20 folks along with you and plan a walkout.

1) Designate a standup leader

2) Wear plain clothes. Carry no signs or banners.

3) Sit quietly and wait for the speaker to say the thing you know they'll say - be it a lie or spin or hate-filled buzzword.

4) On that word, the standup leader stands. The rest follow suit and then all walk out.

1. Won't work.

1. People need their money coming in. Now is what's important. I can't blame them; we all have bills to pay.

2. Wasn't that idea half-attempted by immigrants a few weeks ago? If people who came here for selfish purposes* aren't going to bother, what makes you think Americans will?

* note: Those who leave their country for another wilfully abandon any loyalty to their country. To leave it is the ultimate glove slap.

2. What???
What money coming in? And what does leaving the country have anything to do with the OP? I'm lost.

5. there may be confusion then
I'm not talking about walking out on a job. I'm talking about walking out on a speech as a form of civil protest.

4. half attempted?
Are you kidding? Hundreds of thousands walked out and it scared the crap out of the MSM.

I didn't suggest leaving the country - you did.

Have you ever spoken in front of a group? I have and I know for a fact, it rattles the cage to see people walk out.

11. I like the idea a lot. We get some pretty offensive
speakers here in my red state. This would be a fun way to at least give them a bit of a rattle.

14. thanks
I was inspired by another poster's thread but I won't say which one cause I got locked the last time I did that.

An organized audience walkout is so cool because they can't throw you out when you're already on your way. Also, you might find that others will follow your lead and walk out as well.

13. I've done it. It's great. Works well. Others follow at times.
Not because they care but because they were thinking of leaving anyway and didn't have the guts to make a disturbance.

15. Yeppers
Rethugs expect protestors that carry signs, wear t-shirts and yell out. They never expect the MASS WALKOUT!
