PLEASE rent/buy/view Woody Allen's "The Front"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074554/
Script: http://www.script-o-rama.com/movie_scripts/f/front-script-transcript-woody-allen.html

I hadn't seen this movie in years (done in 1976) and it is such a timely movie on many levels. If you haven't seen it, it's about Woody Allen being a front writer for some blacklisted writers during the height of the McCarthy Era in the 1950's. The propagandistic similarities between the 1950's commie boogeyman and Chimpy's so-called "War on Terror" are almost too funny...

Scary part of the movie:
"We're in a war, Mr. Brown. Against a ruthless and tricky enemy who will stop at nothing...to destroy our way of life. To be a spy on the side of freedom is an honor."

(From site above)

1. Not a Woody movie actually in the true sense since he didn't direct...
But worth seeing for sure.

2. "I know some people, well they're not actually people--but for $50..."

"they'll break anybody's legs"

Great exit line too at the end but I don't want to give it away. Very stirring in a patriotic way, that ending, and should be taught to kids in civics classes.

3. Absolutely wonderful movie
Many of the actors were actually blacklisted in the 1950s. Zero Mostel's character is so tragic! Thanks for reminding me of this great movie. It is one of my all time faves.
