Young punks practicing for Iraq?
Teens attack boy, then use his artificial leg to attack his defender

Thursday, July 13, 2006

By Stephanie Gehring
Staff writer

A group of teens attacked a 15-year-old boy, removed his artificial leg and hit a friend who tried to come to his rescue, police said.

"It was just mean," Burbank police Capt. Joe Ford said.

The Burbank teen was playing basketball in the 7900 block of South Nagle Avenue when a group of teens in a blue vehicle drove past and almost hit him at 12:02 a.m. Monday, police said.

The car stopped and the teens got out. They grabbed the 15-year-old, shoved him to the ground and removed his prosthetic leg, police said.

1. Tough call.

Gut reaction is to say: "Sign the fuckers up for a 5 tour shift"

But we don't know about their circumstances, upbringing or parents. Maybe they deserve a break - You never get the full story from a press release.

Not quite "been there, done that", but close.

2. Yes, we are liberals
It's not their fault they removed his prosthetic leg and attacked his defenders. When are we going to stop being such pussies? :wtf:

3. I agree...
Knowing a person's life circumstances might shed light on why they do what they do, but it does NOT excuse them. Throw them in jail, I say.

6. Better idea...
Take off one of THEIR legs, and beat one of the other punks with it. Show 'em how it feels to lose a leg. Vicious bastards!

4. Hmm...
I wasn't able to read the article at the time I posted. I've now read it.

Even more inclined to the "fuck em" side.

But I'd still say I wont judge them on this article. For all I know they are fucked in the head from a crap upbringing, and need help rather than punishment.

Tell you one thing though: I'm glad I'm not their parole officer. :)
