You ought to hike up to DC for one of the mass protests or an inauguration. You'll encounter a lot of these dicktards. At the 2005 coro-nauguration, one brainy monosyllabic Bewsh supporting woman had an anti-MSNBC/CNN slogan on her sign. Wow, you're rallying against war/Bewsh cheerleaders and a station owned by war profiteers, Ace.

At the Sept 24th rally last year, a massive throng of about 125 freepers gathered in front of the J Edna Hoover building, including JimRob from . . . that other site . . . anyway, it was funny listening to their grunts and squeals as thousands upon thousands of us laughed long and loud at them. Police horses were ironically shitting nearby.

These people are too deep-dish stupid to even know anything about who they're protesting against. So it's no wonder you got the babblings of the gene pool drainpipe. In a real Second Coming they'd be the first to go.

there were only two counter protesters, but one of them had the most insane and stupid sign that read: "i banged joe wilsons wife."

Yes, some of the rich Republicans might think that "the common people" - the ones they are fleecing - really do think and talk like that. Perhaps, as a joke - or as a command from Rich Man Headquarters - they are mass-mailing those.

But then, Ava, I think you are underestimating the anger and bile of the working class people. They are the ones who were sold on the entire Neocon program. That program doesn't simply include adoration of Bush: it includes demonization of liberals and Democrats.

As I've mentioned before, my car mechanic - a good working man - was a Vietnam vet who was angry at the protests and crap thrown at his brothers in uniform after the war. He hates Kerry, Gore, Jane Fonda and Democrats with a full-blown passion. He listens to right-wing radio. He is solidly convinced that liberals ruined this country morally and financially, and no other evidence - even the truth - will change his mind.

He is a truly sad man. He's working out his own sorrow and anger through politics, and the Republicans have tapped and used that anger. He is not a dumb man, and I'm almost certain that after a hard day of replacing engines and changing oil, he would post messages just like that.

(Don't count the misspellings and bad grammar as ignorance. Remember, all these correspondents were taught by American schools, and American schoolteachers don't give a single doody for the kids they teach. Yes, the American school system is MY Vietnam, and I'm not over my anger at it either.)
