Where Does Israel Get Its Oil? |
|
It seems to me that most of the world's oil exporting nations are presumably hostile to Israel. I am surprised that Israel doesn't face a full lock-down oil embargo. Anybody know what stops such a thing from happening other than plain old simple high-dollar oil-money-greed?

3. WOW - Good Question - I Never Heard Anybody Talk About This.... |
|
I'm curious as to what they pay for gas in Israel too. Wouldn't that be interesting if Israel got its oil from the US? Anybody out there know? I've always thought that maybe they are sitting on a cache of tremendous oil reserves. Thinking that is why we have supported them all these years and why everyone seems so intent on taking that land.
Have there been any oil analysis of Israel? It seems like all of the Mideast is sitting on oil - why not Israel?

Maybe the oil flows out of Alberta's underground ;) Then sent out South. Then sent overseas.
(I just imagined that. It's not verified.)

5. Israel itself has a substantially small portion of oil. |

Nothing worth running the country on.
I believe Russia provides most of their oil.
There's an old joke Israelis like to tell on themselves: "Their ancestors followed Moses around for 40 years and he led them to the only place in the Middle East without any oil. "

7. The international community is really able to bring Israel to its knees |
|
if it can ever stop being brow-beaten about the holocaust and impose the justified sanctions against Israel that its barbaric measures warrant. The world so easily sanctions third-world countries and the Arabs by withholding food, arms, medicines, and other resources. But it appears that the members of UN will not be able to use sanctions against Israel because of the guaranteed vote by the US against such actions. Meanwhile, there have been allegations that Pakistani rebel group was responsible for the recent train bombings in India. Will the world ok India going after Pakistan and blowing up its infrastructure and killing innocent people just because a renegade group is fighting what they call injustice by India? I think not.
And anyone who thinks Iran would not be foolish to give up methods for their own security lives on another planet.

8. Here is where Israel gets its oil |
|
Israel produces about 10% of its oil domestically. Israel imports about 80% of its oil via trade agreements with Russia.
The remaining 10% is bought on the open oil markets.
