He is doing this only as a final "Fuck You" to the Democratic Party he so hates. The whole point of doing it is not to get elected, which cannot happen, but to elect a Republican.

And it will have consequences, unfortunately; already Republicans are coming to Lieberman's defense and saying that the Connecticut Demcoratic Parties rejection of him proves that the anti-war whackos have taken over and permit no departure from the party orthodoxy. Non-sensical argument; but one that they might get to resonate.

But it doesn't matter because the voting machines are rigged and we are all screwed anyway.
