Plame headlines tell all. Right demeans case. Foreign press shows respect. |
|
I did a quick Google News search this morning to see if the official announcement that Ambassador Joe Wilson and his wife Valery Plame Wilson were suing White House officials including the VP himself, and the headlines truly said it all.
Where as the mainstream and foreign press report the news with due respect and take the issue seriously, the Right-wing press headlines are nothing but a parade of trite and belittling commentary: o Ex-CIA agent Valerie Plame sues US Vice-President - Hindu, India
o 14:59: Wilson/Plame sue Cheney, Rove, Libby, pretty much everyone ... - Hot Air (Malkin's blog)
o Valerie Plame Finds a New Publisher - National Review Online Blogs
o Plame, husband file lawsuit against Cheney, Libby, Rove - CNN International
o Valerie Plame's Lawsuit Is a Huge Mistake... For Valerie Plame - Hawaii Reporter (a GOP blog)
o Plame, Wilson suing Cheney with 'heavy hearts' - CTV.ca, Canada
o Re: The Plame Lawsuit cont'd - National Review Online Blogs, NY - 2 hours ago "The Plame suit is a publicity stunt." The phrase "wreaks of desperation" immediately come to mind.

All the cable news Flying Monkeys will be out and about, frothing at the mouth and spewing the lastest talking points.
Most of them will probably be retreads from the first time around. When in doubt, attack Joe Wilson.

4. CNN: "...Do they really have a case?" |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 11:31 AM by Xap
Rinse and repeat.
They keep using the legal case to question the validity of the civil case, i.e. "After 3-year investigation nobody has been charged with conspiracy/crime (so there's obviously nothing there)."
I recall the OJ case when the MSM completely ignored the legal case and acquittal by a jury to help convict him in the civil case.
Funny how that works.
