Here's a little tidbit, I thought you all might like:

Report: U.S. wants Iran strike by 2007

The United States and its allies have marked 31 sites in Iran as targets for a possible strike, which – in the event it takes place – will last between five days and a week, Saudi-based al-Watan newspaper wrote in a report based on Pentagon reports and intelligence data from other western countries. According to al-Watan, Israel will not take a direct part in any proposed military action, but the American administration has nevertheless decided to allow the country to respond if it is subjected to a ballistic attack from Iran. Al-Watan further reported that American experts have warned that strikes must take place this year, and that in any case they should not be postponed to later than January 2007; after this date, Iran is expected to reach the point of no return when its nuclear facilities will contain radioactive materials

1. Five days to a week? Are we going to hear THAT BS again?
That was the outcome that was to happen in Iraq too!

2. That's strikes, not incursions.
We don't have the manpower to invade Iran, but we could easily 'shock and awe' them. Spend one day taking out their air defenses and air force, then another three or four days knocking out specified targets.

Of course, we don't have to invade them to fight them. I would expect to see a massive mobilization on their part, rolling into Iraq just to get at our troops there - and installing their own favored puppets to replace our favored puppets. And no way we could stop them. We'd have to nuke them to keep from being overrun.

I think that certain people in DC are hoping for that.

3. And guess what, the Iranians have figured that out too.
They probably know with some certainty what the US is going to do. Do you believe they will just a)lay there & take it or b) get themselves ready?

You're right: we don't have the manpower to march in and "take" the country. That's why their only option is going to be some kind of air strike, probably at night. And I also believe the Iranians are ready for it.

Iran has the backing of India, China, Russia, Venezuela, Indonesia. If the U.S. DARES to bomb them, the rest of the countries will put us out of business.

Ain't gonna happen.
