Bad Cop, Worse Cop
Commentary: Bush's disengagement from the Middle East peace process should not be mistaken for neutrality.

<snip>

From the very first meeting of his National Security Council six years ago, President George W. Bush made it clear that he wanted the United States to reverse 35 years of consistent engagement, dating back to President Richard Nixon, by trying to manage the Israeli/Arab conflict. "I don't see much we can do over there at this point," he announced. When Colin Powell expressed grave concerns over the implications of the disengagement Mr. Bush envisioned, the President replied: "Sometimes a show of force by one side can really clarify things."

Israelis continues bombardment of Beirut

<snip>

BEIRUT, Lebanon - Israel tightened its seal on Lebanon, blasting its air and road links to the outside world and bringing its offensive to the capital for the first time Friday to punish Hezbollah — and with it, the country — for the capture of two Israeli soldiers.

Warplanes again smashed runways at Beirut's airport with hours of airstrikes, trying to render it unusable, and destroyed mountain bridges on the main highway to Syria. Warships blockaded Lebanon's ports for a second day.

Smoke drifted over the capital after strikes exploded fuel tanks at one of Beirut's two main power stations, gradually escalating the damage to Lebanon's key infrastructure.

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Israel struck Hizbollah targets and devastated an array of Lebanese civilian installations on Friday, drawing mounting world criticism of its tactics since Shi'ite fighters seized two of its soldiers and killed eight.

But the White House said President Bush would not press Israel to halt its military operation.

Asked whether Bush had agreed to a request from Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora that he rein in the Israelis, White House spokesman Tony Snow said: "No. The president is not going to make military decisions for Israel."

2. Correction: Bush is a useless piece of shit ALL THE TIME!
When has he ever done anything for the greater good of the people, without any strings attached?

If it's good for Bush, it's bad for the rest of humanity. Of course, his cronies seem to love him, and why not? They are getting obscenely rich under his administration, to everyone else's sacrifice.

5. He doesn't have the ability to give a shit about them or us....
he only cares about himself, it's always been that way. I predicted it in 2000, he's going to lead us down a path of total destruction.

Useless indeed. Hopefully, I sense his golly-gee-I'm-justa-regluar-guy bullshit is wearing out its welcome.

10. Install a fool with the "reverse-Midas-touch" in the Presidency
Then just sit back and watch him fuck up the entire world through his inaction, or even worse, actions. Bush is exactly the right person for the people pulling the strings: easy to manipulate, predictable, and not smart enough to understand what's really going on...

11. I do think it is what they want
and the result will likely mean another terrorist attack in the US. They would be very happy about that.

What bothers me most is the media is completely ignoring his lack of participation in the ME crises.
