Using a voice in your head every day, for any number of reasons, is rather common I believe.

the head voice tells you too pick up an AK and go to your local post office
the God voice tells you to love one another as God loves us

also, if you feel the Lord is telling you something, run it by scripture. If that "voice" tells you something that conflicts with the Bible, it is NOT God.

Voice says "sell your daughter", is God (Exodus 21)
Voice says "vote for Bush", not God.
Voice says "get really drunk and knock up your daughters", is God (Genesis 19)
