So is this it?? Is this the beginning of war with Iran?
Is this how it is going to go down?? Or will things settle down in a couple of weeks?

How many carriers do we have in the gulf??

What about that carrier group that was headed for the Koreas??

Could that be diverted??

What signs do we watch for??

Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 08:27 PM by bridgit
and he'll let cheney push the button...to my mind, that's the look he has, like he doesn't have to be witty or funny or appropriate cause he has 'the bomb', as though he feels empowered to stop it all and he's just waiting for the opportunity

13. Ya wanna see people on the streets?
If a draft is weaseled through Congress, there will be protests worse than anything any of us from the Vietnam era could imagine on the streets of all the cities in America.:nuke:
As long as this is an all-volunteer force, the draft-age people don't feel threatened enough to speak out. Just let them feel that Breeze on their own behinds, and there will be protests too big to be ignored. A big political NO-NO for the NEOCONS. Would blow up in their faces!!!-

22. Who's Congress? OUR Congress???? LMFAO!!!
OUR congress who won't even try to reign in our authoritarian regime right here at home...our Congress that sits on its hands while Bush/Cheney feed the Constitution into the Paper Shredder? OUR Congress that bought the pack of lies that opened the door to the Iraq War?

Somebody's Congress...but not OUR Congress.

9. Not watching the master mind Rove
He said "We will Win on the War and Torror issues" Dam right only way replugs can win is by going back to war and putting out phony torror alerts. Know your enemy to defeat your enemy first thing you learn in Combat. Rove never served but reads Westmoreland

10. my take is this:
israel will hit syria somehow, probably in the next day or so. syria will retaliate, maybe even declare war on israel. iran will bluster, but not act, which won't make one damn bit of difference. bush and israel will 'condemn' iranian 'provocation' and 'support of terror'. bush will issue some silly ultimatum against the 'syrian/iranian AXIS OF EVIL'. so, what will end up happening, is that SYRIAN military action will 'justify' american action against iran. bush WILL have his war, make no mistake. and its gonna happen very very soon. my guess is days, rather than weeks.

They have been right so many times before and they have been talking about this coming now for months.

I am so sick to my stomach right now. Why can't Americans wake up?

24. an air campaign
no ground troops. they've been prepping for it for some time now. they would have done this sooner too, but they had to replenish their stocks of cruise missiles and 'smart' bombs. we MAY get advance warning of it if someone manages to notice when they launch the stealth bombers from whiteman afb in missouri.

26. they can fly for a looooong time with midair refueling
and they may have already repositioned some to diego garcia, a base in the pacific. but some of them would still have to take off from whiteman, which would almost certainly be noticed.

29. I am on the same page as you....absolutely...
They could see that we weren't buying into the thought that they wanted to attack Iran, after being lied into Iraq...sooooo, someone had to get something going that can be blamed upon Iran...in order to "justify invading"....and it sure as hell seems as though those details are being worked out as we speak...(I wonder why I keep thinking about all those secret, sneaky, underhanded black ops that have taken place over the years)...???

18. No
Iran may be supplying arms and other aid to the Hezbullah, but they are not in there directly, giving Israel no excuse. Also by staying out of the actually fighting (fiery speeches are cheap) their ongoing nuclear program (whatever state it may actually be in) is off the front burner. This is really working to their advantage.

19. I dunno if this means anything ...
Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 09:44 PM by RoyGBiv
A friend of mine on a ship cruising outside the immediate area of conflict last time I knew is suddenly, and without explanation, no longer sending me e-mails. A lot of explanations could exist, such as him just being really busy at the moment with his normal duties, but it is curious. Last time this sort of thing happened, we were bombing someone a couple weeks later, and his ship fired the second cruise missile.

I have to be vague with the questions I ask him about what he's doing, and he's even more vague in his answers. Last note I got said something about his being on his last shore leave for awhile.

Could be something. Could be nothing.

OnEdit: Last month the AWACS at Tinker were doing a lot of training exercises. (Touch and go landings at Will Rogers, circle, touch and go at Tinker, circle.) I haven't seen a single one in about two weeks, however.

It will stay on cue with the PNAC script as it has played out thus far to date.

32. We did Israels dirty work in Iraq...now they are going to deliver Iran
Edited on Sun Jul-16-06 02:08 AM by LaPera
and it's massive oil fields for BushCo & the greedy American fascist corporations that they haven't been able to grab as of yet...and Israel will of course prosper - with our tax dollars the dirty work and lies will continue. Israel has nothing to lose, they'll get & force what they want, they'll always have all the oil they need (we'll assure that) while our taxes are financing it all, as our kids will die...The pay back for BushCo for the use of our (tax paid) military is always oil profits, only for the few and the few will be satisfied...as we'll be paying for it ALL at the pumps as we go further into debt.

Greedy sick bastards. Seems like were in Napoleon's era...but I guess nothing changes...imperialism continues...
