Stop asking if gas prices will go back below whatever magic price

No great amount of people have changed driving habits, no great amount of people have canceled vacations or business travel. The price is still within what people are willing to pay.

Does anyone think it is going to go back below $1.00 a gallon? Or whatever last magic price that whoever said was going to change the way we live. Everyone will get over this passing of a magic price of gas that is so horrible.

1. The price is not going to go down because the DOLLAR
has fallen 40% in international purchasing power. Unless we want to go back to fiscal policies that ensure a strong dollar, we'd better get used to sticker shock at the pump.

2. I say stop complaining about gas, and start demanding energy alternatives
Higher gas prices are indeed here to stay. I suspect that they will only continue to climb higher. Eventually, $7.00 per gallon of gas will be the "norm".

Stop complaining about gas prices, and start calling your congressmen to demand that they foster immediate development and implementation of energy and mass-transit alternatives.

3. Well, I remember in the 80s when experts said we would never see
single-digit mortgage rates again. Since both things are things that are manipulated, maybe you can't be so sure of your assertion.

4. It really wouldn't surprise me a bit....
If we were paying $4 a gallon by the end of the year. Especially if this crisis escalates.
