How the insanely religious deal with the Bush disasters.....
I occasionally glance at a message board that centers around Pomeranians, as I do Pomeranian rescue and several others there do as well.

I just read a thread that was jaw-dropping and it opened my eyes as to how the religious right have dealt with failure after failure on the part of their Rapture Boy. Their answer, after they've done so much to foist this dangerously incompetent clown on our country, is to stop watching the news!

Here's a snippet of the thread:

OP: AS MOST OF YOUR PROBABLY KNOW, WE ARE BASICALLY UNDER ATTACK BY NORTH KOREA. THEY HAVE MORE MISSILES THEY WANT TO FIRE AT US AND SHOW NO SIGNS OF BACKING OFF. BEING A 16 YEAR OLD I AM SCARED TO DEATH. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE IN MY LIFE. LAST NIGHT I LITERALLY DID NOT SLEEP ALL NIGHT AND I WATCHED THE NEWS. I AM TERRIFIED. PLEASE EVERYONE, PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY AND THAT WE MAKE IT THROUGH THIS TERRIBLE BATTLE. "IF GOD BRINGS YOU TO IT, HE WILL BRING YOU THROUGH IT!" THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Response #1: Do not be afraid. God is still in control just as He has been since before the beginning of the world. We just have to trust Him to take care of us.
Big hugs-

Response #2: AMEN to that and as you can tell, I agree whole heartedly,,,can we get a witness? :)

Response #3: If it's my time to go, I'M READY!!! Heaven will be FULL of Pommies!!!

Response #4: I totally agree with Elaine. Just pray for our safety and ask the Lord to intervene. I will send a prayer to ease your fears.

Response #5: To the young lady that made the original post.. I am an older person and may I tell you that I fear more the enemy we don't see or know over the ones that we are aware of. If you will look back over history we and our country have survived many bad things and I honestly feel that we will do so again. I might also suggest that you watch the news a little less, it does nothing but feed your fears...Edith

Response #6: Edith, you amaze me,,,have you ever considered running for president,,,,so much intellect and compassion rolled into one person. I like you and Im not being glib! With this generation, you give someone a compliment and they are ready to sue! We cant bury our heads in sand, but we cant fret to death over everything,,,like Elaine wrote "God is in control" and you wrote> "Chin up dear...positive thoughts and prayers." The best advice ever, ladies!

OP (remember, the OP is a 16 year old): THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE POSITIVE THOUGHTS EVERYONE! MY FIANCE FINALLY HAD TO TAKE THE TELEVISION OUT OF THE ROOM SO I WOULD STOP WATCHING AND IT HAS HELPED! LOL. I KNOW OUR COUNTRY IS A GREAT ONE AND WE HAVE A GOOD PRESIDENT WHO WILL BRING US THROUGH THIS, AS WELL AS GOD. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP EVERYONE! KEEP THOSE PRAYERS COMING FOR OUR COUNTRY!!

Response #7: >MY FIANCE FINALLY HAD TO TAKE THE TELEVISION OUT OF THE ROOM

Too funny, that gave me a late night chuckle,,,,young people can be very refreshing sometimes

Response #8: The one thing all of us Christians can do is PRAY PRAY PRAY. Pray for our leaders. Can you imagine being in their shoes? Pray for Godly guidance and wisdom to make the right decisions. And yes, stop watching the news.

Response #9: I totally second that! I have stopped watching the news - I am involved in other things and have peace of mind - Maybe ignorance equals bliss but I don't plan to let the pitiful state of our country and world ruin my precious sleep or anything else!!! That just gives "the enemy" more power over my life than i'm comfortable with!.....
There is a powerful "LAW OF ATTRACTION" What we think about we bring about. I truely believe our thoughts have power and i'm not wasting my thoughts and "creative power" on thinking about North Korea!!
------------

So, they've stopped watching the news to protect their 'peace of mind' while people are being slaughtered thanks to their 'godly' president. Shit like this just makes me want to scream.

Elect a nut and then just turn it all over to God...we're in big trouble, folks. There are lots of these people out there.

And notice how the morality police either 'chuckled' at that tidbit or remained silent.

I guess they only try to control what *we* do, and not what one of their own do...

6. That clinches it. Pom lovers are nuts.
I just picked up a 25 lb, 8 week old Pyrenees pup. And I can tell you that NO self-respecting pyrenees lover will EVER stoop to such posts or such actions. Hah!

Then of course, you have your Peke lovers - we know about them, don't we? Well, all those rumors are TRUE! Trust me on this.

Or minature French Poodles? First, they are FRENCH, which tells you something, and they probably get driven around in Hummers (to improve the self-resepct of the driver with a lack of manhood).

18. FLAME WARNING
hey, I can tell you stories about puddle lovers, too. so watch it, bud. Not in the same league of Poms, admittedly, but still.

Now, take your average golden. Silly, lovable, cute and dedicated. I have a 13 yr old 100lb child who still fetches and goofs around. Can you say that about your puddle-dog? Can anyone imagine a curled, lipsticked and nail-polished puppy even considering doing something honorable and noble as chasing tennis balls and retrieving them? Of Course Not.

Or take your St. Bernard or other lap-sized dog like German Shepard, Alaskan malamutes or Great Danes. All sweet, loving and perfectly sized children. With your french minature, you have to watch where you walk or you might squish them underfoot.

22. Puh-leeeeeeeeeeeease!
First, "(c)an anyone imagine a curled, lipsticked and nail-polished puppy even considering doing something honorable and noble as chasing tennis balls and retrieving them?" Uh, yes, with the exception of the 35-40 pound cockapoo, they were all fetchers, and none were "curled, lipsticked and nail-polished." And fetching is "honorable and noble?" Well, then GW is honorable and noble, because I think he just makes the intelligence threshhold for fetching.

And I don't know how big your lap is, but St. Bernards and the others won't fit in my lap, and I've known a couple Danes in my life, and they were both fucking psycho. One of 'em had a thing about ears, and bit a couple people's, including mine. Shepherds, Bernards and 'mutes, OK, but Danes are insane. As for squishing them underfoot, I can see past my belly, and thus have had no problems avoiding that unpleasant experience.

Mencken? Who said you could use Mencken? }(

he also weighs in around 100lbs, but is lower and wider, more like a hummer and with the 4 wheel drive.

You are right about GWB. He and my golden are on the same level IQ wise.

I have 2 standard poodles and they are the best dogs I've ever had. Poodles were originally water retrievers and some still have the retriever instinct. Very smart and funny dogs.

28. my 8 week old
seemingly grew in just two days, loves to attack the older dogs' tails and paws, as well as my many collections of half-read books, power cords, and anything else within reach. Still, what an amazingly cute pup. Even the older guys seem to tollerate him. except when it comes to rawhide or pig ear chews. The little guy then stumbles sideways, pretends to fall, then leaps and steals the chew from the others. Now, at that, they get a little pissed.

Given that he might grow as large as 130 lbs, (based on his parents' size) I wonder how long he will enjoy laps. and vice versa.

I am so glad that no one has raised the issue of excess felines here. keeps things sane and friendly.

9. I'm going to make an assumption here based on what was NOT SAID...........
....the 16 year old girl said, "MY FIANCE FINALLY HAD TO TAKE THE TELEVISION OUT OF THE ROOM"

What was not said is what room the Fiance took the TV out of. Based on that and the fact that I've had 16 year olds in my home (both mine and their friends) I have to assume it was the girl's bedroom the TV was taken out of.

OK, so based on that my questions are as follows;

Did the fiance ask if he could take the TV out of her room or did he just assume it was his male right to do so??

Next, where the crap was the parent/s through all this "I'm macho" and I rule your life stuff??

OK, maybe I'm assuming a whole lot here but go along with me for the sake of argument because for me this is ominous. Maybe I took too many pains to raise independent girls and respectful guys.

23. Good questions. It's also entirely possible she made the whole
thing up. It sounds a little fishy to me, like maybe she tacked on that whole event to be more dramatic. The "helpless female who needs to be rescued by her man" thing tends to play VERY well with fundies. Shows she's submissive, has a man, and needs REASSURANCE RIGHT NOW! ("So please pay attention to me, kay?") It might also work to get people to ask her about being engaged at such a young age, which might also be a lie. Obviously I have no way of knowing, but that's my guess, just based on a hunch.

12. It's because of dumb-f*cks like this
the fear monger, war monger party is in charge. NOTHING is going to happen to you. N Korea apparently can't even hit Japan with their missiles. Iran doesn't have anything. The only thing we will get out of this is $5 gas. If you want to worry about something, worry about that and the inevitable economic collapse. You're not going to be able to feed your cousin/wife and your inbred children with a depression raging and it won't matter how much you go to church. Oh, and also worry you're going to get drafted and be standing around Tehran getting shot at next July.

and don't give me any crap about red state inbred whatever and this is why we can't win. Bringing up your 16 year old fiance brings it upon yourself.

16. Personally that is my advice to everyone...
...to stop watching the news spewed forth daily by the major media. It is meant to paint a "reality" of fear and salvation, of lurking and exploding danger everywhere and a U.S. President riding in on a white horse ever saving the day (followed, of course, by armies of advertisements selling you consumerist crap to salve your every ill ease). Bernays-Goebbels could not be more proud of the levels of control exercised by our corpo-fascist oligarchy today.

and i've been around the world now
and i can see this about america
the mind control is steep here, man
    the myopia is deep here
    -- Ani DiFranco, Serpentine

The fetishism of the commodity — the domination of society by "intangible as well as tangible things" — attains its ultimate fulfillment in the spectacle, where the real world is replaced by a selection of images which are projected above it, yet which at the same time succeed in making themselves regarded as the epitome of reality.
-- Guy Debord, Society of the Spectacle

A functioning police state needs no police.
    -- William S. Burroughs

    the police try to protect
the banks - and everything else
    is secondary

27. it's not just the self-deception that sucks...
But their deliberate unwillingness to admit that they might have made have made a mistake voting for blivet. You notice that one does admit that the country/world is in a mess, but her response is to click off her television.

For a party that preaches personal responsibility, those most responsible for putting him in office are just handing this mess off to God and ignoring the appalling suffering that Bush's policies have caused. And that mindset just sickens me.

They pretend like these problems dont exist. I brought up a ton of these Bush-related to a relatively insane right-winger on another message board and he went berserk, blaming 100% of them on the democrats, none were Bush's fault.

The infalliability of this man is crazy. A good example of this - how else can Ken Lay get millions of dollars, gut his employees' pension plans leaving many of them out of work, price-gouge Californians to the point where many of us cant afford to live, be arrested, indicted, and prosecuted for his crimes, die before serving jail time, yet people are so blind as to compare him, an evil, scum-sucking PRICK, to great people like JFK, Martin Luther King, or even Jesus? What the fuck?

32. OMG, the 16 year old ordered me off the board!
I posted this response to their thumping:
-----
Yes indeed, pray for us to survive the most dangerously incompetent president our country has ever known.

Not watching the news is not the answer - what you need to do is educate yourself, and quickly, on how the chickens are coming home to roost - in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and in the latest conflict between Israel and Lebanon that may well end up involving Syria and Iran. And yes, in North Korea. Understand the consequences of Bush's policies and become an educated voter. You can't just elect a nut and then turn it over to God. There's suffering all over the world in the here and now thanks to Bush, and Christians - I thought - care about the suffering of innocent people. This Christian does.

Turning off the news because you're scared isn't the answer. And did you're fiance ask you about removing your television, or did he do it on his own? Did you have any say about this decision?
-----

This is what the 16 year old replied:

Woah Woah Woah!!! This is no time to be "poo pooing" our president. If you read the original post you would see that I am just asking for prayers for our country. What does it matter who is running the country right now? An ape could be president and I would still be asking for prayers for this country! Everyone is entitiled to their own opinion, but if you have one about the president, go to a different message board and post it there because I dont want to hear it. Just remember that he is fighting for your freedom and your right to say these things.
------

She doesn't even realize that we do have an ape for a president....what a dumbshit.
