It will be Disappointing for all sides when the Rapture fails to occur. |
|
The end timers will of course be disappointed at having to hang around with the rest of us, and the rest of us will be let down because the end timers will still be here, preparing for the next end of times.
See what happens when you get your hopes all up?

A complete recount in CA-50, or Democrats regaining control of Congress.
It all looks kind of the same.
ETA Damn, now I've got that song stuck in my head:
"Some-WHERE O-ver the rainbow waaaaay up high..."

5. The only problem with that theory is... |
|
If therewere a rapture right now the religious twittering nits that compose the end timer cultists would not be the ones being raptured. By the very description of it the people who would be leaving are.... well... uh... those who actually walk the talk, not just talk... and talk... and talk... AND TALK!

8. And the funny thing is that many of them |
|
truly think that all they need to do is talk the talk. As long as you go to church and memorize the bible, that's all that matters. You can be a total asshole otherwise. Its just amazing.

7. How long can they keep up this scam? |
|
The idiot fund-o-mentalists expect the rapture to happen and those who manipulate them have practically promised them that it would take place in their lifetimes. At what point do the dumshits wake up and realize they've been used? And who will they turn on when that happens? I don't know the answers but I'm not lettin my popcorn supply run low.

What will be the most asked question asked by republicans on the day after the rapture?
"Hey, have any of you guys seen the democrats today?"
They'll be wondering where all the good guys went!

10. Millennialists are always destined to disappointment |

like the Millerites and the Great Disappointment of 1844, when some ten thousand followers of Miller turned out for the end of days, only to discover..... it wasn't.

11. The Rapture is a Myth |
|
...any conscientious Christian knows that this began with some wingnut preachers in the 1800's so they could use fear to raise money ~ sound familiar? The early Christians DID think they were "the last generation" and that the world would end as they knew it, but they saw it more as a beginning to something new, not the end of everything.
Mega-churches today would not be in existence if they did not use fear as the tool to heap up their collection plates with those millions. But then fear in religion has always been the way to enrichment for people who know how to use it in order to enhance their own bottom line. From the Egyptians on to Jerry Falwell and Bin Laden, they all use it to enhance themselves.
If Americans were not so wrapped in fear we would not be in this fix, IMO. We would not have the hundreds of thousands killed every year with guns, much less having to live under these wingnuts running this country who actually are trying to bring this about because they are so convinced they are going to be among the 144,000.
These Rapturous idiots cannot see that Jesus taught love, not its opposite, which is fear.
