They got the Idiot-In-Chief to go along with getting Syria out of Lebanon. The Syrian army was a stabilizing force and no threat to Israel. They knew getting Syria out would lead to a resurgence in Hezbullah. Eventually they would get a provocation that they could exploit. Then, with no Syrian army in Lebanon, Israel could do as it pleased--all the while blaming Syria and Iran. Their goal is to lure the Chimperor into a military confrontation with Syria and Iran.
