Tony Blair to be question by police re: political corruption
U.K.'s Blair 'to be questioned by police'

LONDON, July 14 (UPI) -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair is to be questioned by police as part of an investigation into political corruption, it was reported Friday.

Blair and Jonathan Powell, his chief of staff, are to be interviewed over the summer over allegations he nominated wealthy businessmen for parliamentary seats in exchange for large cash loans to the Labor Party, the Times of London reported.

There has been widespread speculation that Blair might be questioned over the so-called cash for peerages scandal following the arrest Wednesday of his chief fundraiser, Lord Levy.

The row erupted in March when it was revealed that four people nominated by Blair for peerages -- seats in Parliament's unelected chamber, the House of Lords -- had secretly loaned the party millions of dollars before last year's general election.

4. Blair, on the advice of Powell
*dancing in the streets* Blair wasn't going to have another term anyway but I desperately hope this leads to jail time for the smarmy, sanctimonious, self-righteous puppet.

7. Just like all the investigations into the W admin...
nothing good will come out of it. Unless Tony rats out his buddies George W and Rove, I expect nothing good will happen. :argh:
