So what's the Penalty for sending Corn Starch to the N.Y. Times, GITMO? |
|
Edited on Sat Jul-15-06 03:11 PM by Philosoraptor
Some unidentified person or persons, (Ann Coulter) apparently sent corn starch in an envelope with a veiled threat for being traitors or some such shit.
If the person or persons is caught, what does the law demand as his punishment, (or Ann's)?
Is this person a terrorist? Would this person be tortured at Gitmo, or sent offshore somewhere else?
Did they ever catch the guy who killed several people with anthrax and sent some to Patrick Leahy and Tom Daschle?
Surely the same person is not involved, because the was just plain corn starch, not weapons grade corn starch.

1. Corn starch is a well-known, old fashioned remedy for chafing |
|
and skin irritation.
But I'll bet there's some law against scaring the crap out of people/intent to incite on the books.
What idiots DO this kind of shit? Hope they licked the envelope flap....

3. If you tried to sell cornstarch as 'cocaine' to an undercover cop... |
|
...you'd still be busted for dealing drugs, so by extension, I'd assume the penalty for sending something purporting to be anthrax would be the same as sending real anthrax.

4. Terrorists. Angry that the NY times is "hurting the war on terror". |
|
:crazy::patriot::crazy:
And I think Ann Coulter bears a special, personal responsibility here for incitement.

6. Surely it was a middle eastern, swarthy type. |
|
No decent American would ever threaten with corn starch.

7. Try standing in an airport and say you have a bomb |
|
It is a threat whether real or just made to look/sound real. It is indeed a form of terror and needs to have the city bombed immediately after all we are at war with terror.

I'm in a wheelchair. Airport security is REAL fun for us folk. Anyways, I was getting treated like I was Osama hisself when I hear some frustrated very old man nearby in a walker squeal - "Dammit do you think I have a bomb up my ass or something?" -- well before you can say lickety split they had the guy whisked off to some underground torture room for what I image was a proctology exam.
Why we put up with grandmas getting their boobs felt up just for the privelege of being stuffed onto a plane is beyond me. There's got to be a better way.

10. I'm sure there's some law against yelling "Anthrax!" in a crowded mail... |
|
room.
Since terrorism is an act trying to achieve some effect... (In this case, terror) I'd think what she did does qualify.
Throw the book at her...

gathering alphabet-soup agency sub-organs, have they found this piece of excrement? What's taking so long, fellas? Hmmm?
By now shouldn't they have been scooped up without a FISA warrent, disappeared somewhere that doesn't exist for extensive interogation, their case secretly tried in front of Arlen Specter's secret kangaroo courts? I mean, isn't that how it's supposed to work now?
Just wondering.
