Anyone have details about the bombing of Tripoli? |
|
I keep hearing that the Israelis have bombed Tripoli (the Lebanese Tripoli) but have not found any details about this. Does anyone have more information?

2. Thanks -- some very disturbing news |
|
Following the link you provided, I found this:
"In Lebanon's northernmost city, Tripoli, witnesses said Israeli helicopters carried out the deepest strike yet into Lebanon, firing four missiles into the city's port area and hitting grain silos."
Now why are grain silos considered a military target? Is the plan to starve them (the Lebanese) out now and keep other ships from being able to bring in food and supplies through the ports? This is insanity!

4. Wait a minute! The obvious question is: "What's in the grain silos?" |
|
Believe no one. We can assume nothing in this horrible mess.

3. I'm bumping my own thread because folks need to know... |
|
... just how far the Israelis are going to go in order to destroy Lebanon once and for all. They are not only destroying this country's infrastructure but its grain silos and ports. This is beyond disgusting.

8. Are you asking whether I think those were missile silos? |
|
I don't think anything about those silos can be known, except maybe that they were hit. I cannot even be sure of that. Aljazeera.net reported the strike on Tripoli 13 hours ago but made no mention of silos.
I wouldn't expect a mention there because the focus was and should be on the deaths caused. Those concern me a great deal more than grain silos, no matter what those silos contain.

10. The link provided was from the Canadian press |
|
But I'm sure the Canadians are just the propaganda arm of Al Jazeera.

how can the likkudniks justify this? Tripoli is a Christain area in Northern Lebanon. Far away from the Hezbollah controlled south.
