New DU Group - Former Problem Children?

Were you ever labeled as incorrigible, out of control and disruptive to the learning environment?

Were you the kid who was always getting paddled? Always in detention? Always getting sent to the principal's office?

Were you ever suspended from school? Expelled? Arrested before you turned 18 years old?

Were you smoking pot before most of your peers? Did you sell pot? Any other drugs?

Did you ever go to class high? Drunk? Was it rare to go to class straight?

Were you able to hotwire a car before you had a drivers license? Are any of your childhood buddies now in prison?

Were you ever sent to an alternative school for problem kids? Did you drop out of school before graduating?

And if you did, did you ever get a GED, enroll in college and graduate with honors, shocking the hell out of everybody, including your former probation officer?

If so, then maybe we should form a group.

6. Got thrown out of girlscouts every damn year

AND choir, and my bowling team....all of them forced to join by my demented mother. Was the first stoner in my class. 1/2 my childhood buddies are in jail, dead or missing (OR Fucking Jesus freaks.) I went to art school so I could be stoned all day.

Then a Christian school, then a military school before getting sent down to Colombia to live with my grandparents. That is only part of the story.

But that was after I tried sneaking into their camp one night during a Boy Scout outing.

My Girl Scout troop camped at an occupied Boy Scout camp once.
One of the girls got in trouble because she punched a Boy Scout. :D

I also stole my girl scout leaders secret candy out of the camp refrigertor and shared it with my gs homies. My mom got called in the middle of the night to come get me. Mom was loaded and did not have a driver's license. How I ever made it this far astounds me.

I refused to recite the scout pledge backwards as punishment for declining to carry the flag in a color guard.

I got good grades and all that but was not popular or cool.

I think you have allies in that group. Outside the system but too quiet.

I may have had non-hyper ADD, I'm not sure. That's where you can't concentrate but you don't cause any trouble because you're not hyper. You seem to go along OK, meanwhile, you're not really as involved as you look.

I was ADHD. I was the guy jumping off the walls. It wasn't until I started self-medicating with marijuana that I was able to sit quietly in class. For the most part anyway.

I was a big problem child, runaway, law breaker, thumbed my nose at all authority, spent time in detention homes, almost went to boys industrial school (kid prison) when I was thirteen. Found the stoners two years later, got kicked out of school, got my ged, 15 years later a bs in social work, most of my friends are dead, car wrecks, od's, murdered, I used to keep a list when it got into the eighties I gave up and wondered why in the fuck am I still here.
Each day is a wonder, yeah I belong in this group.

25. Me too. I was moved up a grade in first grade, but

I asked to be sent back because I missed my friends.

In my High School Western Civ. class, my teacher told me, "You're one of the brightest students I've ever had. But you hang out with the wrong group of people." I was coming to class stoned most of the time.
