Declaring War On The Christian Reich
I'm fed up with them. They want freedom to worship. They want freedom to advertise their beliefs and spread "the word" but they also want to police the world with their morals and if it offends them they want it removed. I'm tired of them and I want them sanctioned. I want a constitutional amendment to bar them from speaking in public, spreading their beliefs and trying to run the world based on their religion.

I also have a quesiton for you lawfully inclined dems and supporters. Can we not challenge a constitutional amendment on the grounds it takes our freedom to love who we wish away from us? Can we not go to court and force another amendment to really hit them where it hurts, like the "sacred marriage" argument? If they truly believe marriage to be a sacred union, more than one marriage per person would then be sacrilege and anything contrary to one marriage would also be sacrilege and should be punishable by law. Adulterers, abusers, and anyone refusing their marital duties could and should be punished. Can't this "sacred marriage" bit be turned against them?

I wonder how hard it would be to start a class action lawsuit pertaining to those issues above?

1. I agree with your general sentiment...
in pointing out the typical right-wing hypocrisy when it comes to the "sanctity" of marriage, but I think such a proposal, in reality, would be going just as far.

2. What they preach is hate
Don't we have laws against hate speech? Speech that incites people to violent actions whether by word or deed against another group of people? If that were enforced....

5. I'd love to see that.
They have perverted the teachings of their Christ to the point where they are nothing like what he espoused, remember 'blessed are the meek'.

7. Their goal is to rule the world, just as Osama Bin Laden wants
They are no better than Osama Bin Laden, actually they are worse, because at least Osama comes out and says it.

I say it is time to declare war on them. They think they are under attack anyway, let's then attack them and show them what can be done to hypocrites.

8. They control the courts.
You have an uphill battle. The good 'ol USA is changed at least for our lifetime. It's one reason I can't forgive the gang of 14 or the DLC.

9. I don't think so
They might have a hold, but I doubt they control the courts, if they did we'd all be going to Church every Sunday with no choice.

There's still hope.
