Where IS W and his administration in the ME crisis? |
|
Is it another Katrina scene? Evidently so. W is eating roast pig and the others are scattered.
No one at the Captain's chair.

He's always AWOL during every crisis. He can't respond without a script and scriptwriting takes time. There is always a delay of 48-72 hours until he surfaces with a rehearsed statement in hand, allowing him time to learn the new buzzwords and code for whatever has happened. The man does not think on his feet and those he delegates responsibility to are mostly PR people who are preoccupied with theatre and not real events.

and the NY Times yesterday posed a question-- if Rice now decides to use diplomacy, who would she talk to aand what would she say?
Under Clinton, Warren Christopher ran over there at the first signs of trouble and put out the fires before they started.
Under Shrub... ???

Who can Bush even talk to?
They've isolated themselves to the point they have no common ground with anyone.

most of the players over there.
Even if Syria and Hezbollah are scum, it's not our job to write them off if later we're going to go in and try to broker a peace. It's the sort of thing where we have to try to keep down our lunch while keeping avenues open.
Or. just forget about the hard parts of being a superpower.

He would've sent somebody like Gen. Anthony Zinni to broker a ceasefire between all parties involved.

25. Many here are making the mistake |
|
of thinking that the administration wants peace in the middle east. They don't. They want an excuse to 'shock and awe' Syria and Iran. There is no doubt in my mind that behind the scenes, the US is orchestrating these attacks to further the neo-con agenda.
It has the added benefit of making the US fundies happy. It's the Apocalypse, Jesus is coming soon to whisk'em up into the air!!

DO you really honestly believe he has the ability to contribute anything to the solution? This is a man who only knows how to blow shit up. That's his idea of diplomacy. Pray he stays out of it.

Actually this again is a deliberate action. Bushco is letting Israel do their dirty work for them, starting a war. Then after certain key countries are engaged, namely Syria and Iran, Bushco can use the excuse of coming to the aid of Israel to fulfill their PNAC dreams, namely conquorering and occupying Syria and Iran.

23. Like usual, that Bushboy is an idiot and incompetent |
|
Meanwhile they will continue to divest themselves, slowly and quietly, of US Treasury Bonds and other instruments of US debt. They know that the US cannot afford another front in this war on a noun, so they will liquidate their holdings. This leaves Bushco fewer options, one of the most prominent being to simply print more money, thus debasing the currency, driving up massive inflation, and really hurting the middle and lower classes.:scared: The rich will simply look upon it as a buying opportunity, as like Cheney they have gotten their money into investments that will help protect them from inflation.:banghead: This was the case back in the Great Depression, and now that the fatted calf of the middle class has been properly fed, it is time to lead us to the slaughter.

29. It's all planned out. This is our entry into attacking Syria and Iran |
|
We have already said Israel has a right. The next step is for Syria and Iran to be blamed for something and then we "have no choice" but to aid our alli. See how easy it is to start a war and make it seem so just and pure?
