Question about our DU rules, with a world war ready to break out |
|
I understand the need to segregate and create a separate Israeli-Palestinian forum, with appropriate rules being necessary to keep control over an understandingly hot topic.
But, now that war is breaking out, expanding, and involving Lebanon, Syria, Iran, the US, Russia, and potentially other countries, how do we deal with those growingly complex and dangerous issues? They don't seem to fall squarely into the designated forum.
I don't wish to start a new thread, but rather, I am just asking for clarification on our rules. Call me stupid, I guess.

1. Good question - unless we have one forum for.......... |
|
.....nothing but "war" but then the resources needed to keep a forum like that up and running might be too much even for DU.

2. It's not officially a war |
|
Until Bush declares "mission accomplished".

3. With it expanding beyond Israel and Palestine, the mods are already |
|
allowing plenty of discussion outside the I/P forum. I see less and less posts getting moved there (which I think is good - this is a very wide subject, and the I/P forum's special rules can't really apply to the discussion that we at DU, and everyone else, want to have).

4. It seems as long as we avoid flame wars here |
|
that the rules have been 'relaxed'.
So far it seems to be working.

5. I haven't seen much in the way of flaming |
|
but then again, the story in generating a hell of a lot of heat on its own - in a militaristic sort of way.
Why does it remind me of our own Shock and Awe campaign in Iraq?
