War and Pronouns
I've heard Dan Bartlett repeatedy refer to Israel as "her" and she, only female pronouns.

Has anyone heard how he or anyone from the mis-Administration referred to Lebanon? I'm curious as to whether Lebanon is called she or it or he. One is dehumanizing, and then you have the masculine (aggressive?) and feminine (weak? victimized? in need of protection?) I'm just curious and want to compare this minor detail.

1. I believe nations are traditionally referred to in the female...
...especially by their inhabitants. I cannot think of an exception to this rule in Western/European culture. Other cultures may have different norms but traditionally the inhabitants are considered "children" of the land they are born in so I'd imagine the female reference is nearly universal.
