My Father has become a total Liberal Neocon/Warmonger
I don't know what's happened to him. He's still extremely liberal on social issues, but when it comes to matters of war and peace, the crisis in the middle east, etc. he has become a total Warmonger hawk.

Watching all the news on TV today coming out of the ME all he keeps saying is "Good! We've got to get the terrorists!" "We need to go bomb Iran next!" "They cannot be allowed to have nukes, no matter what the cost!"

When I try to interject a voice or reason he doesn't even hear me. "Can you imagine if a nuke went off in America? We have to wipe these countries off the map."

"What about the innocent civilians?" I ask. "Listen, if these crazy leaders won't give up their weapons, it's just too bad. Iran, North Korea, it doesn't matter. We need to destroy them all."

"Israel is doing what it needs to. They should kill them all."

On Muslim-Americans: "They need to be all deported."

It's sad for me to hear all this stuff coming out of his mouth. I thought he was sane. I guess I was wrong.

2. If you're of military age, has he suggested that you join the service?
Or perhaps his grandkids if he has any? I'm just wondering how he feels about that spot where the shoe leather meets the road.

7. He was even agreeing with Newt Gingrich on MTP today!
It was crazy.

I was like, "You do know this is Newt Gingrich don't you?"

His response: "Yes but he still makes some good points."

6. I would guess
that he doesn't know any Muslims and has swallowed what the MSM has said whole. Does he go to a fundamentalist church or does he listen to hate radio? This could also have influenced him.

As for me being deported--my ancestors have been here since 1620. Does this mean I get to go back to Britain where they were residing before coming across on the Mayflower?

8. He doesn't know any Muslims...
but he's also insanely upset about illegal immigration and is convinced that Mexicans are stealing our jobs. When I asked, "Have you ever had your job stolen from a Mexican illegal immigrant?" he was like "No! That's not the point. The point is it's wrong, and you might have yours stolen someday!"

10. He sounds as if he is very afraid
of anyone "different" than he is. He might be surprised if he met and talked with a Muslim. My husband and I don't advertise our faith; we have been told by several well-meaning pius people that we are "good Christians", which we take as the compliment it is intended to be; but in reality, the Teachings from all spiritual traditions are the same-love your neighbor as yourself.

God willing, your father's eyes will be opened, and he will find out we aren't bogeymen with horns! :)

17. Oh, lookie here....
"Your father is right! People need to imagine a nuke going off in America."

And why is that, pray tell?

So the Loonie fringe that controls this government lock, stock and barrel can further destroy this nation and it's constitution?

Freeptards and other Republican Death Cultists are all about "freedom is on the march" until they get a little scared, then they run to their daddy-figures for protection.

They are sickening, fucking cowards.

"I'm still sickened by having seen the people jumping from the WTC towers."

I'm equally as sickened by the tens of thousands of innocents we have slaughtered in Iraq for Boy George's dirty little War for Empire.

You should be too, or don't dead and mutilated brown people register on your give-a-shit meter?

"The jihadis are a death cult like no other that has ever existed."

Bullshit.

"And there are millions of them out there who would give their lives to detonate a nuke in the heart of NYC."

Again; ignorant, xenophobic bullshit.

"It's pretty much a sacrament of Islam to kill yourself for the religion."

Where do you get such ignorance as this? It seems it is endemic in the lunatic Radical Right. :wtf:

19. This is frightening stuff because if your Dad believes it, .....
so can anyone else.

"Listen, if these crazy leaders won't give up their weapons, it's just too bad. Iran, North Korea, it doesn't matter. We need to destroy them all."

I am afraid this is also how the world feels. Have you noticed how increased anti-American sentiment is in the world right now? I can imagine almost the exact same conversation going on in N.Korea:

"Listen, if these crazy leaders won't give up their weapons, it's just too bad. It does not matter that it is the US. Those Americans seem hell bent on destroying the world and George Bush is as big a terrorist as I have ever seen. We need to destroy them all."

Your father should see pictures of protests that happen around the world. He should see all the posters naming Chimp as a terrorist. This is how we are viewed by a lot of people right now, including some Americans. Don't they have just as much right to protect themselves? We do not have a say as to what people worldwide do and with this cabal it is only a matter of time before some world leader decides to show Chimpy who the real decider is.

War and bombing is not the answer. I am not religious but I do live by the creed of doing onto others as I would have them do onto me. War and fighting is not the answer. These people are determined to destroy everything around us. How sad for everyone.
