UK troops under fire in Afghanistan

<snip>British and Afghan forces came under heavy fire in Nazad town in Helmand province on Sunday, days after nearly being overrun in an attack by 200 Taliban.

"This is the 27th attack in 18 days," said British military spokesman Captain Drew Gibson. "Our forces are coming under fire from a hospital. It appears it is a deliberate attempt to draw us into firing back at the hospital."

In two separate raids late on Saturday close to Sangin district of Helmand province, coalition and Afghan troops, backed by air strikes, killed 35 Taliban guerrillas, Helmand's police chief said.

The raids were part of an offensive launched in June by foreign troops in response to a wave of violence by a resurgent Taliban and their drug-gang allies across the south.

2. WTF?? Didn't we kill off those bad fellas? Some success we got....
The Afghans are having a bumper crop of POPPIES ....right in front of our noses and we are helpless to stop them? Osama still on the loose? Prolly having a Mai Tai in the Marqueses or Bora Bora....

Oh well, The Brits never learned, they having failed before, and seems like neither do we.
