Bush told Blair: "I think Condi's going to go (to Mideast) pretty soon"

"The White House said it had nothing to announce about a trip to the Middle East by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, even though Bush was overheard telling Blair, "I think Condi's going to go pretty soon."

Condi isn't so anxious to go . . .

WASHINGTON, July 16 (KUNA) --

"I certainly stand ready to do so when I believe that I can make a difference," Rice said from St Petersburg in an interview with the Fox News aired here earlier today.

"Simply going in and shuttling back and forth if you don't know where you are trying to go is not going to help," she said.

"I am thinking about it, as you might imagine, and assessing it every day.

1. Send her in with body armor, MREs, and an M16.
Let her patrol Bagdad outside the Green Zone and see if she still thinks the war was a good idea.

14. Has Anyone Told Him He's In Charge?
I hate to say this about the asswipe but is he aware that he is "Condi's" boss? As the decider it is his duty to tell her where to go, what to do when she gets there, and when to come back. It may come as a surprise to him but it is he, not she, who is the head of the Executive Branch of Government and responsible for Foreign Policy. Shame that it is, it also happens to be true.

2. I guess the ME doesn't need piano players.
I larfed loudly this a.m. when the Today Show ran a clip of Diane Feinstein proclaiming President Clinton should be sent in as a special envoy. My laughter wasn't at the thought of BC being sent but at how that would burn the arses of rat-wingers to see Clinton as a statesman in this situation.

4. Bush THINKS she's going????
When do you think he will be told what the plans are? After she's in the air to Beirut? I think his comment was very telling as to how decisions are made in *'s White House. He is told AFTER it is decided by whoever the real 'Decider' is. Cheney I guess.
