All the leaders of the world should be forced to live together in a hotel
on neutral ground somewhere and not be allowed to return to their home country until they figure out how to get along with one another on this small planet.

Make sure the conference hall at the hotel is air conditioned for their comfort. If it takes a week, fine. If it takes a year to figure it out, so be it. Room opposites together. I don't think there's a citizen on earth who would miss their beloved leader while they're away.

2. That's too good for them
Desert island, no food except for what you find, no shelter except for what you build, come back in 6 months and see who's left.

4. Yes it is, but this really has to be figured out
These people have to get together and learn where everyone's coming from for the sake of us all.

10. I think the people would have
a better chance of figuring it out if they didn't have the "leaders" in the way.

3. they (those leaders) are ignorant of peoples' different sort of
customs and culture. We just do not understand other cultures and view them as not being like us, which is totally wrong.

11. Exactly. I'll bet every person on this forum can relate a story on how
they actually got to understand and like someone out there in the real world who they previously thought they didn't like...and how they did it just by getting to "know" them and their differences.

Our leaders need to do the same thing, only on a massive scale. Forced friendship, if you will.

Let them see face to face what it's like for a substantial proportion of the world's population.

6. they get along fine now
so long as they have folks to do their fighting for them. The problem's not so much that THEY need to get along, it's that they need to stop embroiling their subjects and followers in these manufactured wars and stop leading these to commit acts of senseless violence.

7. You're much kinder than I am, but we share that idea.
For the last several days, I've been saying put them all in one big room TOGETHER and let noone out until they have hammered, beat, or somehow worked out their differences! If some don't come out alive, so be it!

8. They should have this done ...
<snip>

Electing a new pope wasn't always so straightforward. For many centuries powerful Roman families bargained so one of their sons or brothers could be pope as well as bishop of their home city of Rome. Wars and rivalries delayed elections. After Clement IV died in November 1268, for nearly three years there was no pope. Finally, civil officials in the Italian city of Viterbo, where the cardinals were meeting, got tired of waiting. They locked the cardinals up in a building, tore the roof off to expose them to the sun and rain, and threatened to feed them only bread and water. Gregory X was elected almost immediately.

This would get 'em off their asses.

13. Divine inspiration.
This occured in the movie "Parent Trap". The two girls were put in a cabin together to teach them to get along. I realize that this was a movie, but it did work.

15. Your example almost always works
at least in all the instances I've seen it when two people finally decide that it's easier to get along than fight, and more fun, too. I know it's a lot more complicated than what I've suggested here, especially when religion enters into it so much, but that's all the more reason these "leaders" need to get together.

16. The heck with neutral ground
I saw we put them up in a hotel in the heat of the fighting in Lebanon or Iraq and I bet they come to a solution a lot quicker. Let them be the ones under the gun and see how they like it. These so called "leader" have no respect for human life as far as I can see. It is all a big game to them.

21. They should be put in an isolated area with live fire reigning down
on them until they come up with a solution, not only to the current crisis but also to the Israel/Palestine crisis, I bet they would find a resolution damn quick then, if only to save their sorry, chickenhearted asses.
