Not so much any more. It seems as though it has played itself out just like any other subject and has begun to bore a lot of people. Including me. This is nothing new after all. Israel invades Lebanon regularly. I have seen this movie before. Several times actually.

1. unfortunately, everytime there's a sequel, many audience members die
you can say you don't care, but its a lot harder to make that assessment if you are living there.

2. Lets be realistic here
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 10:22 AM by NNN0LHI
What we are witnessing doesn't compare with our Shock And Awe and continuing war crimes in Iraq. Didn't you find it odd that all the media got to Israel to report on this story with huge numbers of reporters and so fast? Anderson Cooper even made it over to report on each and every death as it happened. I have never seen him or anyone else trying to keep so close of a count on the Iraqis who we are killing daily. Have you?

Even what the Israelis do these days seems pretty tame in comparison to some of the things our government has done lately.

3. I was responding to your stating this:
"It seems as though it has played itself out just like any other subject and has begun to bore a lot of people. Including me."

I wasn't comparing shock and awe with the IDF. I was commenting on your stated lack of interest. You can keep changing the subject, but that doesn't invalidate my observation of the first topic you brought up, it only opens up the discussion to other topics. In OTHER words, you're not refuting or even addressing my point by bringing up other unrelated points.

4. I Sure As Hell Care Even If The OP Does Not.

I suspect the OP is suffering conflict fatigue. That is dangerous. It makes you look away from the ugliness and often people looking is all that ends it!

We should never become so accustomed to violence that new outbreaks are just accepted as normal. That kind of thinking will get more and more killed.

It is the same kind of fatigue that causess so many Americans to say shit like, "Yeah, all politicians are corrupt. Whay can you do?"

Dangerous and irresponsible thinking that allows the abuses to continue without challenge.
