William Kristol Gets Slapped Down! ON FOX NO LESS!
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 09:18 AM by DistressedAmerican
This morning Juan Willians let William Kristol have it over his endless war mongering! Amazing coming from a Foxie.

Does this signal some wider rejection of neocons even in asshat circles???

Sure hope so!

Williams Confronts Kristol: ‘You Just Want War, War, War, And You Want Us In More War’

This morning on Fox News Sunday, William Kristol argued that the Bush administration’s “coddling” of Iran had “invited” the latest outbreak of violence, and that the United States should join in the current fighting. Juan Williams pushed back:

You just want war, war, war, and you want us in more war. You wanted us in Iraq. Now you want us in Iran. Now you want us to get into the Middle East. … You’re saying, why doesn’t the United States take this hard, unforgiving line? Well, the hard and unforgiving line has been, we don’t talk to anybody. We don’t talk to Hamas. We don’t talk to Hezbollah. We’re not going to talk to Iran. Where has it gotten us, Bill?

Kristol threw up his hands and didn’t answer.

4. Believe Me, I'm No Fan.
But, I will refrain from calling him names for the rest of the week. He has earned a very slight reprive with these comments.

Better keep it up though or he goes right back on the "On Notice" board! If he does not mend his ways he will soon be "Dead To ME"!

2. Wierd Irony about Fox
They don't have to worry about being accused of liberal bias; so occasionally they can present views that other networks won't touch. That doesn't excuse the rampant conservative bias at Fox News of course; just kind of ironic.

9. Sure Went Like That During Katrina!
I actually think it was Fox folks Like Shep Smith and Geraldo that actually forced the administration to act. An army of Anderson Coopers could not have applied the kind of pressure those two did given the fact that they are a wholey owned subsidiary of Bushco. International Crime Inc.

When they turn on their masters, their masters know the end is near!

24. I think it's their relentless need for excitement and conflict
that occasionally brings out an unexpected truth. Fox runs whatever will entertain, shock, offend, or otherwise cause the masses to watch in slack-jawed amazement. Once in a while this spills over into calling out the Bush administration in their B.S.

6. I've heard Juan Williams on NPR kind of cave in to Dick Cheney in
other interviews.

Missed this one on FOX but it sounds like he's putting a little zip on the fast ball, at least with Kristol.

And my guess is that the accusation is correct. Kristol and PNAC definitely have the same zip codes.

8. On C-Span this morning, Kristol kept saying, "Our" whenever he spoke
about Israel. He used "our" in the sense of including the United States in the same problems as Israel has.

This is what I dislike so much. I'm ok with being asked to see Israel;s side in the conflict, but I resent being shoved into the fight when I am not in the mood to fight or see no reason to fight.I resent Kristol telling America that "This is OUR fight." Here we go again, being fed these lies and being expected to stfu and take it.

19. The PNAC crowd seems to have split loyalty. At times they seem
to put Israel above the US. I remember seeing Tom DeLay's web stie when it displayed the Israeli flag over the Capitol. I complained and alerted the media, and so did a lot others. The site was changed.

There's nothing wrong with supporting the people of Israel, but if you have taken an oath of office in the US, you should put our agenda above all others.

Remember Tom Clancy when asked about Paul Wolfowitz, he wondered aloud if he was on our side.

Richard Perl and other neo cons worked for the Likud party during the 90's, and seemed to continue pushing Israel's agenda when they went to work for bush in 2001. If you worked for Sears and then quit and went to work for Lowe's, it stands to reason that you stop promoting the Sears product line to concentrate on Lowe's products and services.

Your taxes are paying and paid for the bombs Israel is dropping on Lebanon. YOU and I and the Americans in Lebanon paid for the bombs being dropped on Americans in Lebanon.

STOP all aid to Israel and other ME nations now!

10. He got it partially right
Kristol wants us embroiled in war against any country that has ever threatened his precious Israel, just like the rest of the warmongers. They have absolutely no interest in warring against North Korea or any other dictatorship anywhere in the world. Oh, they cloak it in the language of strategic bases and oil control and empire, but that's the bottom line.

The war in Iraq has benefited no one save Israel. A war against Syria or Iran, both of which have been discussed as serious options, would be the same. The war against Iraq has seriously damaged the US worldwide. Other wars in the region would increase this damage exponentially.

When policymakers in country A dedicate their entire policy to protecting country B to the detriment of country A, we have a name for it: TREASON.

We can't afford these men. We must find a way to oust them from power and keep them out if we the people are ever stupid enough to elect their party. Prison would be the best option.

For flamethrowers out there, note that I am attacking POLICY, not people, regarding a COUNTRY, not people. Remember, the policymakers come from all sorts of ethnic and religious backgrounds.

21. The Argument Was The Saddam's WMD's Were A Threat To Israel.
Clearly, that was a lie since Saddam was not in possesion of any of the so-called "stockpiles" of WMD that could threaten anyone. This whole situation is one of the biggest web of lies in American history. Too bad so many are so goddammed gullible and let these PNAC freaks take over our foreign policy.

And Israel didn't benefit in the end from Saddam's removal? I'm just wondering cause it seems like the current turmoil & the development of new fundamentalist militias in Iraq is more of a threat to Israel's security than Saddam could ever be. Our security, too.

26. Agreed.
This kind of action serves only to create more threats like Israel's 1980's occupation directly resulted in the formation of Hezbollah. When they will stop persuing a losing policy I can't say. But, what is clear is that similar actions in the past have made the situation even worse. Not better.

The lie continues.

23. Israel long considered Saddam Hussein a major pain in the ass
because of his policy of paying $50,000 to families whose houses had been bulldozed because a family member had either been convicted of or just suspected of terrorism. That was a lot of money, considering some of those "houses" were apartment buildings and a lot of people were made homeless by Israel's policy.

Israel wanted him removed. They wanted Iraq incapable of aiding the Arabs in the next war.

This is how it benefited Israel.

Now what has it done to benefit the US?

16. saying this is about "not talking" is misleading.
This isn't just about 'not talking' -- it's deliberate. Furthermore, talking alone wouldn't solve the problem. Talking isn't a framework. It's a framework that will solve the problem, and we should be having a discussion about the frameworks.

30. K&R When the flack attack you, your message is not official...
What better proof of the ongoing civil war among those who control the power and wealth in this country, "management." This is very much off-message, the Kristol statement, not the Williams statement. Kristol was simply laid out by a sharp attack. Williams, generally obedient to the Fox "management" team, was devastating. What does Kristol do, he folds. This invasion is probably the last stand of the neocons, not generally authorized by management, and they've got to sell it to us, the presumed suckers. Israel has made a huge miscalculation. Most Americans, by far, do not want any more foreign adventures. Israel, Iraq, Lebanon, etc. these are not going to fly. Israel has also put itself in a position where it has very little deep support here except for those sad folks who want Israel around for something to do with a rupture or something. They're may be 10 = 15% of the population and they're power is fading.

Stop the nonsense, stop the idiots in charge,

IMPEACH BUSH, CHENEY, ALL CABINET OFFICERS, ALL JUDICIAL APPOINTEES SINCE 2001 .... NOW

31. I would have loved to see 2 Marines run up to that pussy
and tear his suit off, throw a uniform on his ass and drag him out to a waiting Humvee. Have a camera crew follow him to the nearest Air Force Base and throw him on the next transport to Israel. Then with the camera crew in tow throw a parachute on his back and throw his ass out of the plane right over the front line. Then just watch as he runs for cover like the little Cockroach he is. Then, if he lives interview him about which other country he thinks the U.S. should invade. Now that would be good reality T.V..
