Rice: "Israel may need to prolong Lebanon offensive . . ."
. . . to further reduce the threat from Hezbollah.

http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/07/17/news/policy.php

The Bush regime wants to give Israel more time to kill. That's going to be the effect. More deaths. Unbelievable.

Will it ever be possible for the U.S. to again declare that they have anyone else's interest at heart in the region save Israel? Who will be the 'honest broker' for peace in the Mideast now?

from the article:

Former secretary of state, Madeleine Albright - speaking unusually bluntly considering the traditional injunction in U.S. politics against speaking ill of foreign policy while the president is abroad - said of the administration, "I'm stunned, I'm frankly stunned that they have not been involved" more in the region.

"I wish that the secretary had announced that she was leaving St. Petersburg and going with other foreign ministers to the region to begin shuttle diplomacy," she said on ABC-TV. "We can't wait for the violence to stop."

1. Death, destruction and despair
The only path republicans and their supports want to stay on. Kill in the middle east then kill somewhere else. Kill, kill, kill screams those who have no desire to be killed therefore avoiding military service in droves.

2. Word was the Israelis told Rice to back the hell off.
Now she's spouting the line quoted in the original post... seems like her chain got yanked.

3. "Let's kill Lebanese democracy," is what Rice is really saying.
If we bomb Lebanon enough, it might be enough to shake the government apart and provoke a new civil war.

9. Marginalizing moderation since 2001....
seems this administration won't be happy until they have every country, 'cept Israel, under the control of radical fundie mullahs.

7. Oh yes,
from the article:

"The effective green light for Israel on Sunday appeared to leave the United States at odds with most of its allies, which have urged an immediate halt to Israel's retaliatory strikes in Lebanon."

6. Dear old Condi, trying to fulfill those PNAC dreams
Wanting Israel to prolong the war, get Syria involved, along with Iran so that we can start a war with those two countries and fulfill the PNAC goal.

8. Yeah we haven't drawn Syria and then Iran into the mess.
So the job ain't done. Plus those pesky Hezbollah folks seem to have been prepared for the IDF and didn't just run away. This mess will not end until bushco gets its war on.
