|
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 10:16 AM by stop the bleeding
seems like something like this would fly into the face of their exalted Jesusleader chosen one.
Any thoughts, comments, or quotes.

3. I am no expert, but it just flies in the face of being moral and christian |
|
seems like this wouldn't even be an argument a fundy would try to say was right.
Up is down, black is white, into the rabbit hole we go.;)

4. I seriously doubt that Bush "accidentally" said that. |
|
He's playing to his Fundie audience. He's trying to look tough (swearing very earthy), wise (he knows just what to do and he's telling those leaders), and Fundie (blame it on Lebanon, support Israel). That was scripted. Rove probably even gave him the "go" in his earpiece when he knew the mike was on.
If you accidentally catch something Bush says, it's more likely to be "You ever throw up your beer a little in your mouth?" or "Hey, your wife is hot, you want to swap for Condi?"

10. The lack of manners is definitely worse than the cursing, IMO. |
|
You would expect someone with his background and education would have acquired some table manners along the way, wouldn't you? Chewing with your mouth closed is something you teach your children when they are toddlers.

Don't answer that. I had been looking for a clip of the Putin smackdown and just now found it there, thanks to you. I watched it about 8 times, heh heh. http://www.crooksandliars.com/index.php?s=bush+putinEdit: Thanks for the pics of Toby & Pita. Looks like they've got it made in the shade.

They draw a distinction between cursing and foul language.
One's bad; the other's frowned upon. There's some variance in this--some make "frowned upon" almost the same as banned, but will wind up adducing different reasons for it. Push a fundie, and "shit", "fuck", and "for Christ's sake!" are different.
All show anger, and are frowned upon. But "shit" is merely crude, although we constantly run into what it refers to. "Fuck" is crude, and we don't all run into it; talking about private sexual matters around kids is frowned upon for that reason. "for Christ's sake" is taking the Lord's name in vain; it's not gross, but a more severe violation of the code.
I had a fundie minister that had no problem with 'shit'. Many of the congregation didn't, either. "Fuck" was a problem, but "for Christ's sake" would land you in hot water.

|
Please! Do you really think the Fundies care? They don't practice what they preach.
Remember, a couple of weeks ago, when Limpballs was telling his listeners he couldn't say why he was in Columbia(?) with the viagra? You know...*wink* *wink*. Were his listeners outraged?
I rest my case. :P

how to add "shit" to the 10 Commandments and Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Oh wait - they don't know the Sermon on the Mount. That would be a "liberal" passage...
