"Lebanon is Hezbollah and a 15 year old girl is a woman." |
|
Maybe it's just me but while listening to CNN this morning, I couldn't help but notice that the news commentators seemed to have been going out of their way in not mentioning Lebanon by name. Instead, when they would report on the bombings going on, they'd say "Israel bombed Hezbollah." Is Hezbollah a country now?
And CNN is still calling the Iraqi girl that was murdered a woman....

If America was bombed, we should say "Attack on Republicans!" just because they are the majority?

16. Actually if that were to happen |
|
I'm pretty sure a good chunk of the other half of Americans wouldn't care that much. Certainly not enough to stand up and fight for them.
Better stick to that "Attack on America" thing after all. :)

but it is a minority party in the national government.
ON EDIT:
OTOH, it is the only faction that has refused to disarm since the civil war, so they do have extraordinary influence for a minority party.

6. and attacking the infrastructure for all of Lebanon... |
|
might cause the government to collapse. If or when this happens, there's a very real risk that Hezbollah will gain control over more than just Southern Lebanon. Certainly this is not what we want, right?

I'm not advocating that Israel engage Lebanon too harshly. Hezbollah wants that to happen.

Israeli Raids Bring Misery for Hezbollah http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/17/AR2006071700096.htmlThe article details bombings of civilian homes, but implies that they are Hezbollah by virtue of living in southern Beirut.

|
On AP radio news today, they've been going on and on about Israel "bombing Hezbollah" when it is the city of Beirut and the general infrastructure of the whole country, including the main airport, that's been getting destroyed.
But none of this should be surprising. The media just "reports" what it is told to by its masters in the white house.

18. And U.S. and Israeli soldiers are "kidnapped", not captured |
|
and Israel always "responds to" or "answers" an Arab attack and isn't described as initiating the action. On Yahoo the other day, there was even a news article calling the captured Israeli soldiers "GIs". It stayed that way for about an hour until they changed the headline.
