Below is the joint FBI-DHS bulletin issued over the weekend:

Escalation of Arab-Israeli Conflict Could Impact the Homeland

"The abduction of Israeli soldiers by the Palestinian terrorist group HAMAS and the militant Shi’a group Hizballah and the subsequent Israeli military response have escalated the already volatile situation in the region. ......... While DHS and the FBI have no information indicating an imminent threat of attack in the Homeland, it is possible that individuals residing in the United States, who sympathize with the various parties to the conflict, could act on their grievances.

DHS and the FBI have no indicators that individuals are preparing to conduct such action at the current time, but we urge vigilance during this heightened state of tension in the Middle East. DHS and the FBI will continue to keep recipients advised of any change in the threat situation."

3. It's interesting how well people of the same backrounds get along here

In the USA, they are not fighting for land that both sides claim was given to them exclusively by their God. We have areas of suburban Detroit that have jewish people and muslims from the middle east living in peace. Birmingham, for example, and the Bloomfields.

Most of the "arabs" in the area are from Syria or Lebanon. They left their countries in the 80s to escape the fighting that was going on then. They came here and established themselves in the community.

Most of the jews here are the descendants of people who immigrated here from Europe at various times since colonial days, the bulk coming during the Ellis Island days or just after WWII.

The kids go to school together, the parents are involved in community activities with each other and although there are occasional minor incidents at the schools, the school calls in parents and addresses the problem.

The problems come in not between muslims and jews, but with christians objecting to muslims in general, like the Hamtramck Mosque thing, where the old-time catholics in the area objected to the Mosque using a PA system to broadcast the call to prayer in a limited area. They had these idiots saying things that they were parroting from FOX's most ignorant newscasters.
