Time is tight for Israeli offensive: sources= Keep pressure up!
Call your reps, call the white house (fax or email them), send letters to the editor of any newpapers you can. I don't know if it helps, but it couldn't hurt. And prepare yourselves for more as Israel thinks it will lose USA support soon, so is stepping up before that happens.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel believes it may have as little as a week to damage Hizbollah as much as it can before growing international pressure forces it to curb its offensive in Lebanon, Israeli security sources said on Monday.

The United States has so far stressed Israel's right to self defense, taking a far more supportive line than the European Union and United Nations.

But there may be a limit to how long Washington can hold off pressure from others for the imposition of a ceasefire, Israeli security sources and Western diplomats said.

"(Israeli forces) are trying to hit Hizbollah as much as possible before that happens. They will have to accelerate the bombardment," said one Israeli security source familiar with the matter...(more@link)

1. ...the answer so many have wanted...

"What would happen if the US cut off Israel?"

Israel would react in ways never seen before. They would know it would be fight to win once and for all or extinction.

2. Bullshit, "extinction" my ass.
Israel isn't going anywhere, and the bullshit claim that they are in any serious danger right now from Hamas or Hezbollah is total propaganda.

Israel's policies have always been self-defeating. If the US finally did the right thing and cut them off, they'd have to reach a real modus vivendi in the region instead of bullying and bombing.

3. Bullshit to your bullshit!
The armies that lie in wait for the day the US cuts Israel off, will be the true start of World War III! I don't know what world you live in, but Israel is surrounded by hostile neighbors. It has a icy relationship with Egypt, and that is changing because of the Muslim Brotherhood's influx.

But then again, nothing Israel does is right? It is always her fault? :eyes:

4. Uh, hello, there are Jews in Israel....
That means all common sense and logic are put on the back-burner. Get with the program.

5. some stuff done in/by Israel is right, some is her fault
I get really tired of people throwing this out whenever they get challenged on any point. Israel has done good stuff, has done bad stuff, is not black and white, just like every other country/people/person in the world.

I have been called anti-semitic by a former friend, had to point out I didn't like him as a person, had nothing to do with being Jewish. So, yes, Israel does some things right, and does some things wrong. It is not black and white.

Extinction? I doubt it also, unless they bring it upon themselves by trying to prevent it by attacking everyone around them.

7. Do you really believe any of the crap that you just said?
The Israelis are more than capable of defending themselves, even if they were attacked--which is far from a certainty. Do recall, there hasn't been a real war between the Israelis and anybody else for decades. The picture that you spin sounds more like the preamble to one of the right-wingers Rapture fantasies. The Israelis are in no danger. If I'm so wrong, where are the millions of standing troops that would be needed to mount an invasion? Where's the air power? How would these theoretical aggressors get around the nuclear problem? US support means little militarily--we've never directly intervened in any of their wars. The idea that the Israelis are under serious military threat is laughable.

8. LOL...OMG. How naive can you be? Maybe not naive, but just a supporter

of Israel's enemies? The enemies who have vowed to "never stop fighting until the BLOOD OF EVERY JEWISH MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD FLOWS THROUGH THE STREETS AND INTO THE SEA."

THAT is Hezbollah's and Hamas' MISSION STATEMENT. Why would YOU care what THEY have promised to do? Do you live in Israel?

I, for one, BELIEVE THEM. They will NEVER stop killing Israelis and you support that? Is Palestinian and Lebanese blood redder or more valuable than Israeli blood? Who shall die and who shall live in your naive world vision? The FACT IS...Hezbollah and Hamas do not want the State of Israel to exist. Period. Do YOU support that?

Hezbollah is responsible for this excalation and it's ridiculous to blame Israel for defending herslf. What would YOU DO if Hezbollah dropped 1000 bombs in YOUR neighborhood?

Hezbollah hides their weapons in residential areas. Is that Israel's fault? NO. Hezbollah has launching rooms in homes among civilian neighborhoods. Is that Israel's fault? NO. Hezbollah has ALWAYS hidden behind civilian populations so they can cry foul when a civilian is killed when Isreal tries to take out their weapons or operating bases. This is so TYPICAL of Hezbollah and Hamas.....Hezbollah and Hamas Use the civilian population to hide behind and use their deaths as PROPAGANDA fodder.... blame Israel for it. This was also a popular modus operandi of the PLO. Hide behind the citizens, then cry foul when they're killed. Absolutely Demented. THEY use their own people to further their sick radical agenda....to destroy Israel. Do YOU support that?

I can feel your concern for Israel. How concerned will you be when Iran and Syria join the battle? Will you cry for the Israelis? Will your heart break for the Israeli babies? The innocent men and women who die in Israel? Have you shed a tear for the innocent Israelis already killed in this? Do you care?

9. Civilians have died because Hezbollah hides their weapons in RESIDENTIAL
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 02:49 PM by in_cog_ni_to
neighborhoods. Lay the blame with the people who do THAT. If Hezbollah REALLY cared about the civilians why would they hide their weapons in a highly populated area? Why not store them in a military installation outside of TOWN???? Novel idea, isn't it? Hezbollah uses this crap for propaganda and it works. People buy it. Hezbollah operates out of residential areas. Why? Could it possibly be because they like to hide behind them when someone tries to kill THEM? Of course not. Israel just decided to wake up one day and go about killing innocent Lebanese citizens for no reason whatsoever.
