Will the world like us again when we finally get rid of Bush? I know
there has always been - and always will be - anti-americanism but not the way that it is now.

Will we be able to get our tarnished reputation back?

2. No. That opportunity was lost when he was "re-elected" in 2004.
The world assumed we would learn from our mistake of 2000. When Bush was re-confirmed in 2004 all was lost.

In other words, from 2000-2003 they hated Bush. After 2004 they hate us.

4. Not automatically.
We'll have to earn our reputation back in order for some to think positive of us.

7. The Next President Who Publicaly Repudiates Bush's Policies
will trigger a global wave of good feeling towards the US. All will be forgiven as long as there's a real effort to deal with the catastrophe of the last five years.

Al Gore would seem to be in the best position to do this, since he opposed the war from the beginning, although in practice it could be any other Democratic candidate.

8. I agree... I think it'll be hard but not impossible to restore our name
And if Dean and other Democrats keep talking about election fraud, any indications that we didn't actually re-elect Bush will help a lot too.

9. I Actually Think it Will be Easier Than That, *Provided*
that the next president genuinely distances the new administration from Bush in a very clear way and follows through.
