It's not the four letter word, stupid.
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 06:06 PM by senseandsensibility
Who here is bothered by chimp's use of an expletive? Not me. But of course, that's the way it will be spun. The corporate media is dwelling on that aspect of his disgusting performance and will use it to make Dems who object look weak.

What about the rest of his insane diatribe? Yo, Tony? China and Russia are big? Oh, and the talking with his mouth full? What about the evidence that he really, really, is that dumb, something I've been arguing about with fellow DUers for years.

Will any of that be covered?

Oh, and the "stupid" in my title is for the "media", not for my lovely fellow DUers. :loveya:

7. No he wouldn't
He could rape a goat on national TV and media would figure out a way to spin it in the US that Bush was doing something noble -- and his followers would lap it up.

10. I have been saying for years that he could rape a baby on prime time TV
and his koolaid drinkers would find a way to swiftboat the baby.

3. Is that really what he said?
I listened to it two times and I couldn't tell. He mumbles like a two year old.

4. here's what he said... what's the irony of it all?
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 05:48 PM by C_U_L8R
"See the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hizbullah to stop doing this shit and it's over."

sorry .. it just bugs me... almost as much as the inanity of his whole statement.
the "shit" part... that's just gravy on this whole fiasco

8. That's "the irony," huh?
No wonder Tony was looking at him like the complete and utter idiot he is.

I keep wishing for a moment like in the movie "Love Actually" when the PM grows a spine and tells off the POTUS during a press conference. Ah, but I'm a dreamer. ;-)

And I'm no fan of Blair.

15. Me neither, but yes I do. I swear a couple of times
when Tony would pause and then try again, I felt his pain! It made me cringe with embarrassment for myself and for him. Not for Bush, he was too oblivious to be embarrassed.

6. I always eat with my mouth full.
But otherwise I concur with you. I'm sure that, between orgasms about how tough-guy the chimp was for saying "shit," the freeper-types are doing their best to make dems sound like oversensitive zealots. They're the insanely sensitive ones - why don't they realize that?

Oh yeah - 'cause they're stupid.

9. But do you do it when
you're in the public eye or in a professional setting where you're the center of attention? I'm sure we all use less than stellar manners in the privacy of our own homes occasionally, but this was a totally different situation.

16. I was joking - I'm sure the OP meant TALKING with his mouth full,
but he/she said "eating" by mistake.

(which, again, I always do with my mouth full, and so does everyone!)

12. Did you catch how Blair seemed to be trying to "school" Bush and Bush
kept interrupting him? Does Bush think that if Syria says the word, the whole problem is solved? Will all the dead innocents come back to life, will the bombed infrastructure rebuild itself? Will the members and supporters of Hezbollah and the Israelis hold a love-in? And then the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will also magically resolve itself?

Bush is a simple-minded fool who doesn't understand how dangerously uninformed he is.

Wouldn't you know * is the dumbest and his father the second dumbest. I don't really know that much about IQ's but isn't 90 considered as low as you can go without being labeled mentally deficient?

btw. Even though Snopes says it's bogus, it does have a ring of truth to it.

21. The corporate whores have wasted no time in
editing the footage to emphasize the chimp's "tough talk." Most Americans will never hear about or see what I believe is the most important aspect of this story, namely, that he speaks to world leaders like a five year old, proclaiming that Russia and China are "big" and that it's going to take him eight hours to get home.

Can you imagine what Putin and the rest are thinking? "How in hell did this guy ever get past the voters? He's such an obvious dumbass, he should have been eliminated in the earliest primaries. What the hell is wrong with Americans, anyway?"

It always amazes me when people try to defend him on this board as more intelligent than we give him credit for. If anything, he's more moronic than we've acknowledged in the past.

offensive. It is his simplistic solution to the problem, like 'git Syria to git Hisbollah to stop doing this s..t and it's over'. Problem solved.

25. I'm only bothered by the hypocrisy
Edited on Mon Jul-17-06 06:49 PM by conflictgirl
I could really care less if he uses profanity, especially when he doesn't think he's speaking in public. But, it's the hypocrisy of it that bothers me. He and his administration have trumped up the indecency fines and I just read here the other day that the government was going to be reviewing old sports tapes, looking for profanity! And, he's supposed to be such a pious Christian. I'm related to some very pious Christians, and they wouldn't have used the particular expletive that he did.

More than proving to me that he's not dumb, this whole incident has proven that he's a fake. The whole Jesus stuff he's doing is all an act. (Of course, I already knew that, but many people still don't.)
