I think, though, that we cannot and should not depend on disaffected conservatives to pull our chestnuts from the fire. Just because they don't like Bush, doesn't mean they will vote Democratic.
We need to rouse up our base, same as the Republicans did theirs, then let the "moderate", or un-engaged, middle go where it whist. I'm betting they go left.

and all he's saying is true, Then why don't these patriotic Republicans stand up to Bush? I'm aware MCcain is pissed, but if a large percentage of big time republicans are afraid of Bush then perhaps it's time for them to do the right thing and step forward and say so.
It would get allot more media attention and just be much more important if that were to happen, then a group Dem's. If a group of Dem's came forward, and made the complaint "and I believe some have" it would be seen as partisan, but if these true American Republicans did, that would be news.
I'm just saying someone of stature needs to step forward, It doesn't have to be a Democrat. As a matter of fact it would be better if it were republican.
