Question (Inspired by recent events but not really related):
So we find out from several groups of scientists across the globe that one of the main causes of warming is that the earth is gradually slipping it's orbit around the sun - ie, each year it is getting a little closer.

Within 5-8 years they project life will be hard to find on the planet. And so far, no one has found a way to stop it.

How would you react, how do you think others would react?

Would we find people being more peaceful and kind to each other, or the opposite as they strive to survive and hope they might be able to cheat death somehow. Would mass amounts of people kill themselves, their youngest kids (so they would not have to suffer this) etc and so on?

I guess it is not really an Idle question to me because I think some live that way now in war ravaged areas (as one example). No matter what you do you see the end is fast approaching. What next?

Was just pondering humanity, wars, etc, and this popped into my head.

1. I think it's a safe bet that a lot of people would behave badly, and some
would behave well.

Not sure what the ratio would be, but I'd guess about 30/70.

And of course, the 30% who behaved badly would make things harder for the 70% who were among the righteous.

Just like always.

2. I agree about some resorting to violence/some not engaging in.............
....volence. But I think the numbers will be much more lopsided to the violence side. I think it will be more like violence 75% - 25% nice to each other.

3. Actually, I had it at 70-30 first, but changed my mind. Don't know why.
You could indeed be right.
